👋 OUTREACH 👋

Our midwives were busy chatting this weekend at the Perinatal Health & Wellness Fair hosted by the Thunder Bay Prenatal Coalition! We had fun answering questions about our profession & services to many other service providers & hopefully future clients! ❤️💕

Some common misconceptions about midwifery care in Ontario include…

❓Do I need to pay for midwifery services?

👉 No - midwifery services are covered by OHIP

❓ Can I have my baby in the hospital?

👉 Yes - about 90% of our births occur in hospital & our midwives have admitting privileges to TBRHSC just like a physician would

❓ Can I use pain medications during my birth?

👉 Yes - you have the same access to all pain management strategies that a nurse or doctor would utilize including an epidural

We offer an initial intake appointment to any pregnant person who wishes to explore the option of midwifery care! There is no obligation to continue with midwifery care if obstetrical care seems preferable to you!
