At WEDI, we always recommend our patients to be 10 minutes early, so we can register them for their appointment. A lot of the diagnostic imaging exams are pretty short, ranging between 15-30 minutes exams. So if you are more than 10 minutes late, you might be missing more than half of time slotted for your exams.

A Bone Mineral Density (BMD) test measures bone strength and helps assess your risk of fracture, or bone issues like osteoporosis or arthritis.

How often you need one depends on your age, bone health, fracture risk, and medical history. In Ontario, repeat BMD testing is generally done every 3 years or longer, while certain medical conditions or risk factors may require testing sooner.

If you have osteoporosis, a history of fractures, or other risk factors for bone loss, talk to your healthcare provider about when you should be tested. 🤍
