Card of the Day - 7 of Cauldrons
Celtic Tarot
The 7 of Cauldrons (or Cups) is an interesting card. When we see this in a reading, we know that there are many options available for us. As we see on the card, seven cauldrons are offered by seven faint figures in the background. We are shrouded in shadow, looking at the offerings of each cauldron, but neither we nor the figures make a move. This signifies that we are unsure about what is being offered, and unsure about whether we can trust ourselves to make the best choice.
The 7 of Cauldrons is all about decisions, but ones we aren’t quite ready to make yet. And why? Because we’re not quite sure what those cauldrons hold. This card is about illusions. We have choices to make, but aren’t able to see the end results clearly so we just don’t choose. This keeps us in a state of stasis, not willing to move or make the decisions we need to make. We can be clouding ourselves from the truth of a situation, or living in fear of how our choices will affect our emotions. We may put our efforts and attention into the wrong cauldron to avoid facing something in one of the others.
The good news with the 7 of Cauldrons is that once the choice is made, the illusion fades — for better or worse. We will be able to see the truth of a matter clearly, and will be able to make choices and decisions from there. But the message here is movement. We can’t stay stuck in one spot forever, and avoidance will not make the choices that need to be made go away. We need to think clearly about what the pros and cons of each choice are, and choose wisely.
