That's a wrap on July! It was a busy month here at DNAide with Meaghan starting a new job and Emma moving across the country. We were honored to serve 16 patients this month even amid all the transitions. More exciting news is coming soon, so be sure to follow us to see all the latest updates!

We have an exciting and bittersweet announcement!

Our amazing founder Meaghan Doyle is stepping away from day-to-day patient care at DNAide. Her last day seeing patients will be August 16, 2026. At this time, her schedule until then is completely full.

But never fear, Emma is here!

Emma Moores, MGC CGC has increased her availability and is ready to support new and returning patients, including patients who previously saw Meaghan. Emma has significant expertise in all areas of fertility genetics including mosaic and aneuploid PGT-A results and is looking forward to supporting you.

If you saw Meaghan in 2026, you can book a follow-up appointment to discuss the same topic with Emma at any point before July 1, 2027. New topics and test results, as well as appointments booked after that date, will require new consults.

We also expect to add at least one other genetic counselor to the team in the near future. Please stay tuned for more exciting news soon!

What is DNAide’s Advanced Fertility Genetic Testing Program?

As the name implies we have two genetic testing panels, one for the egg provider and one for the sperm-provider. They have been curated to include some of the most newly discovered cutting edge genes that can cause infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss.

But genetic testing is complex! That’s why the program also includes two appointments with . The first takes place before testing. We’ll review your fertility history in detail, walk you through the whole process, and talk about the pros and cons to help you decide if testing makes sense for YOU. If you proceed with testing you’ll meet with me again to go over your results so you actually understand them.

Who is this program best for? There are a few things that people may have experienced on their fertility journey that make it more likely that their infertility has a genetic cause. Some of these include:
🧬Most or all of the eggs retrieved for IVF are immature (especially in more than one cycle. This is the case for most of these items listed)
🧬Most or all of the eggs did not fertilize during IVF
🧬Most or all of the fertilized eggs did not reach the blastocyst stage

"I wish I knew this sooner" is one of the most heartbreaking things I hear from patients when I share information about their "abnormal" PGT-A results. It's even worse when they learn that one of their abnormal embryos could have been viable after it has already been discarded.

Usually patients come my way after they're far into their IVF journey. I've been wondering how to get information about PGT-A results out there sooner. That's why I created this downloadable guide. It has 6 questions that patients can ask their clinic when they learn that they have an "abnormal" PGT-A result, and space to write notes about their responses.

If 6 questions seems overwhelming, or there isn't that much time during the call, the very first question might be all that is needed get the answers they're looking for.

Patients just starting out need to know that "abnormal" isn't enough information. There are different types of abnormal results, and some of them can lead to healthy live births.

Case report: prenatal diagnosis of UPD 14 after mosaic embryo transfer

We don't hear about adverse outcomes from mosaic embryo transfer very often, but it is important that they are published when they occur. This helps us learn more and provide accurate genetic counseling to people who are considering a mosaic embryo for transfer. There is always a chance for a pregnancy that results from a mosaic embryo to have a genetic syndrome associated with the mosaic PGT-A result, regardless of the chromosome. This is the first reported case of UPD14, but UPD15 has been reported previously.

DNAide was not involved in this case, but we routinely provide counseling about UPD to our patients when there is a chromosome that can be impacted by UPD.
