When an infant struggles to maintain suction, the latch itself is only one piece of the puzzle.

I often begin by asking:
- What was the birth experience like?
- Is there a preferred head position?
- What does cranial shape tell us?
- How is the infant organizing movement throughout their body?
- Are there signs of tension affecting function?

These questions help create a more complete picture of feeding challenges and guide further assessment.

Every infant is different, which is why curiosity is one of the most valuable tools a practitioner can bring into an evaluation.
Which question do you find most helpful in practice?

I hear this from lactation consultants all the time:
"We've adjusted positioning, there's no tie, but feeding still isn't improving."
Positioning is important, but there's more to the story.

Tension patterns throughout the body can influence how a baby latches, maintains suction, transfers milk, and coordinates feeding.

When challenges persist despite skilled support, it can be helpful to look beyond the latch itself and consider what the body may be communicating.

Often, the clues are already there, you just need the right framework to understand what you're seeing.

I built Level 2 around one core belief:
cranial releases can’t be learned through a screen.

You need to feel when the pressure is right and you need real-time guidance on your hands.

In Level 2, you’ll practice on real babies every afternoon with me and get real-time feedback.

Only 2 spots left for the June 8 cohort.

If you’ve completed Level 1 and feel ready, this is your next step.

IBCLCs see feeding challenges every day:
- Tongue ties.
- Shallow latches.
- One-sided preferences.
- Pain with nursing.
But what if the root cause isn’t in the mouth at all?

Infant CST gives you a way to see the whole picture and address what other approaches might miss.
See how CST and lactation consulting can work together to support babies and families.
Infant CST Level 1 offers CERPs. Link in bio to learn more.

“Wait… is CST even real?”
We hear this one a lot.

CST can sound unfamiliar at first, but the concept is actually simple.
Your body is wrapped in fascia, a layer of connective tissue that supports everything. When it’s healthy, the body works better.

But stress, birth, or even fetal positioning can create tension in that system.
And that tension shows up in babies as reflux, shallow latch, constipation, and recessed jaw, to name a few.

CST works by gently releasing those restrictions, helping the body move and function the way it’s meant to.
Need more ways to explain what CST really is? Send me a DM. Let's talk.

Spoiler: the most important thing you’ll learn in CST Foundations isn’t anatomy, it’s how to listen with your hands.
As a health professional, you already know technique isn’t everything. What changes your outcomes is what you can actually pick up through your hands.
Before working with babies, before cranial releases, before any advanced techniques, you need to develop that sensitivity.
That’s exactly what this course builds.
- Four weeks
- Fully virtual
- Weekly case studies
- Assignments and accountability
This is the foundation that makes everything else make sense.

CST Foundations summer cohort is now open.
Register through the link in bio.
