Some moments remind me why I started Grateful Living Care Services.
(Formerly Joyful Living Care Services).
Today, while reading one of our caregiver's shift notes for a palliative client in the hospital, I had to pause.
"4:10 PM: Offered to play a song I had composed for my parents; the client nodded in agreement. Played the song for him, and he fell asleep shortly after."
No one asked our caregiver to do that.
It wasn't in the care plan.
It wasn't a task on a checklist.
It simply came from the heart.🥰
This is what compassionate care looks like. It's about recognizing that, especially in life's most vulnerable moments, comfort isn't always found in medication or procedures. Sometimes, it's found in a familiar melody, a gentle presence, and the kindness of someone who truly cares.
I am so proud of our Grateful Living Care Services team. They don't just provide care, they bring comfort, dignity, and humanity to every person they serve.
To all our staff, thank you for the countless quiet acts of kindness that often go unseen, but mean everything to the families we support.
These are the moments that truly make a difference. 💖
