Early labour can be long. Like⌠reeeeally long. And while itâs tempting to go full-throttle birth mode the second contractions start, pacing yourself is key.
Hereâs how to support your body, your baby, and your nervous system through it:
⨠Balance rest with upright movement (walks are your friend, but not all day!)
⨠Cuddles, kisses, and sexy time (if that feels remotely possible!)
⨠Safe, consensual touch to help you feel grounded
⨠Eat nourishing foods + make sure to hydrated
⨠Consider babyâs position - reach out if you want support with this, Iâve got loads of tools up my sleeve!
⨠Protect your space: only have people around you who help you feel calm and safe
⨠And maybe most importantlyâdistract yourself. Watch a movie, bake something, do a craft. Anything that helps time pass without hyper-focusing on every sensation.
While early labour can feel exhausting and frustrating remember, your body is doing incredible workâeven if it doesnât feel like it yet. đ
Bonus tip for all those birth partners out there. Try to stay positive and keep morale high. Remind yourself and especially the birther, that birth can take time. Welcome birth in.
