Feeling overwhelmed lately? We created something to help.

The exhaustion. The overthinking. The irritability. The feeling that there’s always something else to do.

When stress becomes part of everyday life, it can be hard to recognize just how much it’s affecting you, or know what to do about it.

That’s why we created The Stress Reset.

The Stress Reset is a FREE 7-day email course designed to help you better understand stress, recognize how it may be showing up in your life and learn practical ways to manage it.

When you sign up, you’ll receive a new course email each day for 7 days, delivered directly to your inbox.

Throughout the course, you’ll explore:

• What stress is and why we experience it
• How stress can affect your mind and body
• How to recognize your stress patterns and triggers
• Practical strategies for managing stress and overwhelm
• Ways to create more calm in your everyday life

Each day gives you an opportunity to pause, learn more about your own experience with stress and explore practical tools you can use in everyday life.

And if you decide you’d like additional support along the way, our team is here to help you take that next step.

Ready for a reset?

The course is completely FREE. Visit psychotherapyforyou.ca/free-course to sign up, check your inbox and we’ll guide you from there.

Thanksgiving comes with a lot of messages about gratitude.

Be thankful for what you have. Appreciate the people around you. Focus on the good.

But what happens when you are grateful... and you're still having a hard time?

Maybe you're sitting at a table with people you love while grieving someone who isn't there. Maybe family gatherings bring up complicated emotions or old wounds. Maybe you're feeling anxious, lonely, overwhelmed or exhausted during a season that seems to expect you to be happy.

None of those feelings cancel out your gratitude.

And gratitude doesn't cancel out what you're going through.

This Thanksgiving, we want to make room for both.

You can appreciate what is good in your life without using it as evidence that you shouldn't be struggling. You don't have to compare your experience to someone else's or convince yourself that other people “have it worse.”

Your feelings don't need to pass a test before you're allowed to acknowledge them.

In our latest blog, “Grateful and Struggling: Why Both Can Be True This Thanksgiving,” our Clinical Director explores gratitude, mental health, grief, loneliness, family relationships and why allowing conflicting emotions to coexist can be an important part of caring for ourselves.

Read the full article on our blog at psychotherapyforyou.ca.

And if this Thanksgiving is bringing up more than you expected, you don't have to navigate it alone. Psychotherapy For You offers virtual therapy across Canada, with therapist matching to help you find support that fits your needs.

What happens to trauma when the event that caused it is over?

The residential school system is part of Canada’s history, but its impact did not end when the last school closed.

For generations, First Nations, Inuit and Métis children were separated from their families, communities, cultures and languages. The harm continues to be felt by Survivors, families and communities today.

Trauma can reach beyond one person or generation, affecting mental health, relationships, cultural connection and experiences with systems of care.

On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors who did, and the families and communities who continue to carry these impacts.

Remembrance is only part of reconciliation.

It also asks us to listen, learn, understand the history that shaped the present and recognize that reconciliation requires action beyond September 30.

Today, we encourage our community to make space for Indigenous voices, experiences and knowledge.

Every child matters. Then, now and always.

Access to care is also part of addressing the ongoing impacts of the past.

Psychotherapy For You provides virtual therapy across Canada and supports eligible clients accessing counselling through NIHB and FNHA Health Benefits in British Columbia.

What if therapy could make a difference for someone you care about?

Some resources we don’t think to share simply because we’ve never considered them for ourselves.

Therapy may be one of them.

You might hear that someone is struggling and suggest they take time off, get more rest, talk to a friend, go for a walk or give it time. All of those things can be helpful and have their place.

And they’re often the first things that come to mind when we want to help someone we care about. What else could support look like?

When was the last time that therapy made that list?

Changing the conversation around mental health can start with expanding the way we think about therapy and the many reasons someone might find it helpful.

This fall, we’re taking that conversation beyond the screen.

Psychotherapy For You will be joining women across Canada at upcoming shows in Vancouver, Halifax, Ottawa and Toronto. Meet us in person, ask the questions you may not have had a place to ask before and learn more about the support available.

Maybe the information is for you. Maybe you’ll pass it along to someone you love.

Either way, a conversation can make a difference. Come visit us at our booth and start a conversation that could change a life.

Sometimes, saying yes to something different is exactly what you need. ✅

Next weekend, we’re heading back to Vancouver for The National Women’s Show, and we’d love to meet you while we’re there.

Come explore, connect, discover new brands and experiences, and if you’ve ever wondered what finding the right therapist could look like, stop by and talk to us.

At Psychotherapy For You, we know that reaching out for support is one thing. Figuring out where to start, who to choose and whether they’ll actually feel like the right fit can be another.

That’s why we’re making it easier to find a therapist who fits your needs, and we’d love to tell you more in person.
