With recent events/air quality in Toronto, we’re getting a lot of questions about lung support!

🌿So we thought we’d share a couple of our favourite lung supporting goods available at our shop 😏

1️⃣ Our preblend BREATH OF FRESH AIR tincture

◗ This blend consists of mullein, goldenrod, coltsfoot, and Indian to***co - all great pulmonary tonic herbs with anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. It also helps maintain lung function and repair damage!

☕️We love our teas. But did you know that some teabags contain plastic?! Materials such as nylon, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are added to help hold its shape.

🌿 At our apothecary, we only sell LOOSE LEAF TEAS, so you know you’re not getting any microplastics 🎉

🤔But.. why does it matter?

👩🏻‍⚕️ FOR OUR HEALTH

◗ Steeping a single plastic teabag at a brewing temperature (95 °C) can release ~11.6 bill micro plastics and 3.1 bill nano plastics into a SINGLE cup of beverage.

◗ Even at room temperature, it can excrete these plastics (though it is 300x less than at brewing temperature).

◗ Exposure to chemicals leached by plastics are linked to several health effects including impaired immunity, endocrine disruptions, cancers, birth defects etc

🌎 FOR OUR PLANET

◗ Most of these teabags are not compostable or recyclable, leading to more waste.

◗ From sealant to the teabag itself, it contains microparticles of plastic that eventually gets released to the environment and pollutes our water.

🍵 For a while, we have been on the hunt for some GOOD QUALITY matcha for ourselves. After researching and trying many different brands, we came across NIJU and dare we say, we were not disappointed!

🍵 & because we enjoy it SO much, we wanted to share with our community as well!

⏰We are looking for someone for our SATURDAY shifts to start (12-6PM), with potential of take on other shifts, along with additional coverage as needed.

🌿 Responsibilities include:
- Filling herbal orders
- Customer service & assistance
- Light reception work
- Inventory management
- Store/clinic maintenance
- Etc.
