Black walnut tincture remains a classic in the herbal toolkit for its traditional antimicrobial and astringent actions. It's definitely one of my favorites for assisting to rid the body of parasites and fungus but it has a few more benefits too:
🖤The high tannin content gives the tincture astringent properties that can help tone the intestinal lining and ease occasional diarrhea. Traditional herbalists also used it for bilious colic and stagnant digestion. Some use it for broader gut-support protocols aimed at microbial balance.
🖤Some herbal traditions used small doses for thyroid-related concerns (linked to the hull’s iodine content).
🖤Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity from polyphenols appears in lab work, including reduced pro-inflammatory cytokine release in cell studies.
🖤Diluted tincture has been applied for certain skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, acne, minor wounds, or fungal spots) thanks to its antimicrobial and astringent qualities.
