KALIMERIS Demetre,

At the age of 90, a legend and a giant with a fighting spirit has left this world. From a rural town in Samos, Greece and tempered through hardship, Demetre travelled the world over, crossing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans by ship many times over. Eventually, making his way to Canada with nothing more than hardened determination and an unbreakable spirit.

He carved out a dream and a life for himself from nothing, found the woman of his dreams, raised five children, and built his family home with his bare hands.

Demetre belonged to a generation of men who simply do not exist any longer - a generation of seekers, of builders, of fighters, who dared all odds and conquered their prize at any cost. A warrior in character, a giant in presence, and a legend to all who knew him, he lived with honor, love, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy is hammered not in stone, but in the lives of those he raised and inspired. And while his journey has ended and he is now been given eternal life, for all of still here may his name, his example, and his legend endure for generations. And may his memory be ever eternal. ☦️🕊️❤️

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Eleni Zoe Pournaras 🕊️

Today, as family and friends gather to remember Eleni, we reflect on a life that, though far too brief, touched countless hearts with love, joy, and light.

Eleni was only 11 years old when she was called into the loving arms of our Lord. Today, she would have celebrated her 17th birthday. While the years have passed, the love that surrounds her memory remains as strong as ever.

At Greek Orthodox Church Funeral Services, it was our profound honour to serve the Pournaras family and assist in laying Eleni to rest. We have never forgotten her beautiful spirit, nor the strength, faith, and devotion shown by her family.

Each year, Eleni’s mother lovingly transforms her daughter’s resting place into a garden of remembrance—a testament to a mother’s eternal love and the enduring bond that neither time nor death can break.

We invite all who knew and loved Eleni to pause today, offer a prayer, share a memory, and celebrate the precious gift of her life.

May her memory continue to inspire kindness, compassion, and faith in all who remember her.

Αἰωνία ἡ Μνήμη
May Her Memory Be Eternal

With love and prayers,

VRAKAS ‘ Peter’ Panagiotis

In Loving Memory of Peter Vrakas
1939 – 2026

Peter Vrakas, aged 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Toronto on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and presence of his loving family.
Born in Hotousa, Greece, Peter’s journey took him from serving in the Greek Army in his homeland to building a vibrant life in Canada. While he was a hardworking man, his true life’s work was the relationships he nurtured. He was the devoted husband of Katerina, and the proud father of Stavros and Sophia (Constantinos). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Nat, Peter, and Nicholas.
Peter’s heart, however, was big enough to encompass everyone he met. Whether through his active dedication to the Greek community and his beloved Syllogo , or the way he opened his home to friends and extended relatives, he had a rare gift for making everyone feel like they belonged. He was a man who found his greatest joy in a full house, a shared story, and the deep bonds of kinship that stretched far beyond his own doorstep.
A faithful member of the Greek Orthodox community, Peter lived a life of service and connection that will be remembered by all who knew him.
