PAPADOPOULOS Evangelos,

Evangelos Papadopoulos passed away peacefully in Toronto on August 14, 2026, at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of Vaitsa, and a devoted father to Angelo (Ritsa), Konstantin (Sofia), and Irene (Marinos). He will be lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren, Evangelo, Evangelo, Christina (Alexander), Theodore (Michelle), Eleftheria, and Alexia, and his two great-grandchildren, Angelo and Adrian. He is also survived by his younger brother, Aristidis.

Born in Agios Theodoros, Karditsa, Greece, the fourth of six children, Evangelos immigrated to Canada in the early 1970s with Vaitsa and their three children, building a new life while never losing his love for his homeland — a love he returned to every summer.

A man of few words but deep patience, Evangelos let his actions speak for him. He found joy in cooking for his family, cheering on hockey and soccer, and simply sitting on his veranda with a cup of coffee, watching the world go by. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and by his many friends and extended family in Greece and Canada.

BOUGADIS Antonia,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonia Bougadis, born November 5, 1958, who passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, at the age of 67.

Antonia was a loving, generous, and incredibly strong woman who devoted her life to her family. She was born in Chora, Messinia, Greece, and carried with her the warmth, strength, and values of her Greek heritage throughout her life.

For over 30 years, Antonia and her husband, Peter Bougadis, owned and operated ice cream trucks. It was more than simply a career for Antonia—it was a way of life that she shared with Peter for over three decades. She took pride in her work and in the life they built together.

Antonia will be deeply missed by her husband, Peter, her daughter, Irene and son-in-law Niko, her granddaughter, Antonia, and her stepdaughter, Marianne, as well as her extended family, relatives, and friends.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her strength, her loving heart, and the lasting impression she made on the people around her. Her love for her family will remain with us always.

May her memory be eternal.

KOKKINIA Panagiota,

Panagiota Kokkinia, aged 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, July 30, 2026, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving so freely. Her departure was gentle, serene, and marked by the same quiet grace that defined her long and beautiful life. Even in her final moments, she carried the warmth and calm that made others feel at home in her presence.

Born August 25, 1928, Panagiota devoted herself to her family with unwavering dedication. She was a loving wife for more than six decades (married in 1961) to her husband, Dimitri, who passed away four years ago. A mother whose guidance shaped generations, and a grandmother whose stories, laughter, and gentle wisdom became treasured memories. Her home was always a place of comfort, where every visitor felt welcomed and every milestone was celebrated with joy.

Panagiota’s life was rich with simple pleasures: always tending to her kids, baking for family gatherings, and sharing long conversations. She had a remarkable ability to find beauty in everyday moments and taught those around her to slow down and appreciate the world with the same tenderness she carried in her heart

She leaves behind a family who adored her and a legacy woven from kindness, resilience, and love. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her spirit remains in the traditions she created, the lessons she passed down, and the countless lives she touched. Her family takes comfort in knowing her passing was peaceful, and that she is now reunited with her husband Dimitri and all the ones who went before her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she shaped and the love she gave so generously.

Survived by her children John (Ioannis) , Bill (Vasilios), Tom (Athanasios), Steve (Stavros), Gus (Konstantinos), grandchildren Samantha, Alexander, Joshua, Jialin, Annastasia, Lecia, Sophia and great-grandchildren Cline, Penelope

PILIOURIS Eleni,

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Piliouris, at the age of 89.
Born in Flambouro, Florina, Greece, Helen lived a life filled with love, faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Piliouris and will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
Helen leaves behind her beloved daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, Kosta; her devoted son, Spiro, and daughter-in-law, Margaret.
She was the cherished grandmother of Maria and her husband Arber, Vasili and his wife Irene, and Eleni and her husband Mike. She was also the proud and loving great-grandmother of Nicholas, Ariana, Vincenzo, and Daniel, who brought her endless
We share the passing of our beloved Mother, Yiayia & Big Yiayia. To us, she was everything our safe place, our guiding light, and the heart of our family. The love we have for her cannot be measured, and the space she leaves behind can never truly be filled.
Her family was her life and her greatest legacy. She poured herself into her children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren building a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support. Every holiday, every meal, every simple moment together was shaped by her devotion. She didn’t just love her family, she truly lived for us.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. She spent decades volunteering her time to the church. It guided her decisions, strengthened her during difficult times, and gave her peace in uncertainty. She trusted deeply, prayed faithfully, and led by quiet example.
She was kindness in human form, compassionate beyond words. If someone was hurting, she felt it. If someone needed help, she showed up. She was selfless in a way that is rare and beautiful, always putting others before herself. Whether it was family, friends, or a stranger in need, she became a caregiver to anyone who crossed her path.
Her strength and willpower carried her through life’s challenges. She faced hardships with courage, resilience, and determination, never giving up when things became difficult. Even in her toughest moments, she remained steady and strong for those she loved.
And oh, her laughter. It was warm, contagious, and full of life. It filled rooms and lifted spirits. That laughter will echo in our memories forever.
She found joy in the simple and beautiful things, tending to her garden with patient hands and preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her cooking was more than food; it was love and comfort. Her garden was more than flowers; it was a reflection of the care and attention she gave to everything she touched.

We are who we are because of her. Her love shaped us. Her lessons guide us. Her legacy lives on in every act of kindness, every shared meal, every moment of strength, and every burst of laughter within our family.
Mom, Yiayia, Big Yiayia we love you more than words can say. Thank you for your life, your sacrifices, your faith, and your endless love. You will always be our heart.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever ours.

TZANOPOULOS Niki,

With deep sadness and immense love we announce the passing of Niki Tzanopoulos at the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit on July 24, 2026 at the age of 93.

She lived a long and meaningful life, rich with love, strength, and devotion to her family.
