New CRMO Board Examination Scheduling Policy

Dear Applicants,

To make the board examination process easier, faster, and more convenient for everyone, the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (CRMO) has introduced a new examination scheduling policy.

Previously, applicants selected their preferred examination dates and waited for CRMO to review and confirm them individually. As this process was quite time-consuming, CRMO will now offer pre-scheduled examination dates, generally twice per month.

This new system will simplify registration, reduce administrative delays, and make the process more efficient for everyone.

Important: If you have already received confirmation of your examination date from CRMO, please disregard this announcement. Your examination will proceed on your previously confirmed date.

For all other applicants who have not yet scheduled their examinations, please select one of the following available dates:

Friday, November 13, 2026 – 9:00 AM
Friday, November 27, 2026 – 9:00 AM

The College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (Canada) is currently preparing a comprehensive new guide titled:

📘 “Guide to Insurance Billing and TELUS eClaims Management for Registered Manual Osteopaths”

This guide is being developed to help CRMO members better understand insurance billing procedures, manage TELUS eClaims, submit claims correctly, and avoid common billing errors.

It will provide practical, step-by-step guidance on insurance billing best practices, documentation requirements, claims management, and important policies affecting Registered Manual Osteopaths.

CRMO goal is to make insurance billing easier, more efficient, and less stressful for our members while helping them maintain professional standards.

Once completed, the guide will be emailed to all CRMO members.

This is another initiative by CRMO to support members, strengthen our profession, and help Registered Manual Osteopaths succeed in their practices.

Next week is practical training week at the National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO) Florida campus!

Classes will run from Monday, October 19, to Friday, October 23, 2026. This training also counts as one week toward the NAO Bridge Program in Canada as required by the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths.

Now that NAO has received approval for its U.S. investor visa, we have exciting plans for the future of our school and the manual osteopathy profession in the United States!

The U.S. government even officially recognized NAO, stating:

"NAO's contributions to cross-border economic growth exemplify the strong commercial ties between the United States and Canada."

One exciting benefit of this visa is the possibility of bringing qualified Canadian employees to the United States through work visas. However, because NAO is a Canadian business, this particular opportunity is generally limited to Canadian nationals.

For now, my priorities are to complete the Registered Manual Osteopaths Directory in Canada, establish a new medical school in Panama, and then devote my full attention to expanding manual osteopathy in the United States.

I strongly believe that the future of manual osteopathy in America will depend on the actions we take today. We have a wonderful opportunity ahead of us, and I intend to do everything I can to help this profession grow and prosper!

NAO Phone Service Update

Yesterday, we announced that National Academy of Osteopathy was experiencing technical issues with its phone line. At the time, our voicemail system was still working. Unfortunately, we have now lost access to voicemail as well.

We are very disappointed with Bell Canada. NAO has moved three times over the past 16 years, and each time we have experienced similar problems with our phone service.

Until this issue is resolved, please communicate with NAO exclusively by email ([email protected]).

Bell Canada has advised us that the problem should be fixed by the end of October.

We would like to inform you that National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO) is currently experiencing a temporary phone service disruption following our move to a new campus at the end of September 2026.

Bell Canada was supposed to transfer our existing phone line to the new location. Unfortunately, the transfer did not go as planned, and we have now been informed that it may take another two to three weeks to resolve the issue.

Although we are currently unable to answer incoming calls, our team will check voicemail messages regularly and return calls using mobile phones whenever necessary.

In the meantime, email remains the fastest and most reliable way to reach us.

CRMO normally responds to emails within one week. However, September, January, and March are their busiest months of the year, so responses may take a little longer during these periods.

Registered manual osteopaths, why should people choose your services over those of your competitors? What makes you unique?

If patients can’t answer those questions, they may choose a practitioner based only on the hourly fee. Identify what sets you apart and share it everywhere: on your website, social media, business cards and clinic walls. Talk about it every day, with everyone.
