Summer isn’t over yet, but we’re running out of time.

The Farmers’ Markets will soon pack up, patios will close and the soft-serve stands will shut down for another year.

So we're going to get out there while we can!

We'll hit the Farmers’ Markets and make sure we have at least one more lunch on a patio. We'll go for another live music event in the park and maybe a boat cruise, but certainly an ice cream in the last of the sunshine! And before long, a walk to take in the changing colours of the leaves.

The only problem? Sometimes getting out is harder than deciding where you want to go.

That’s where our weekly bus excursions come in. We take care of the driving and the planning, so you can simply come along and enjoy the day.
What is the one late-summer outing your family never skips? Tell us in the comments.

From Esther's curated memories come the most beautiful and special pieces of art.

We're showcasing a series celebrating the artists behind the recent Aspen Heights Craft Sale, and begin with Esther J. and her watercolours.

Each painting is tied to a moment she treasures; one captures the polar bears she watched near Churchill, Manitoba. Another shows Mount Assiniboine, a place she hiked in the summer and returned to once in the winter. "They both hold very special memories for me," she told us.

Esther was delighted that Aspens Health and Wellness Director Katherine brought this project together so everyone can appreciate each other's work.

How special to showcase a lifetime of stories, painted in colour and shared with your friends, neighbours and community.

Stay tuned as we highlight more of our talented artists. Which of Esther's paintings speaks to you?

There's nothing quite like the look on someone's face mid-game 😄

This week, staff and residents went head to head across our residences, and the reactions said it all: belly laughs, playful trash talk, and more than a few victory dances!

🏃 Preston Park 1 got the whole room going with a hilarious staff vs residents relay
🥏 Sturgeon Creek 1 faced off at pétanque, where the residents took the trophy (again!)
🌽 Seine River battled it out at Corn Hole
🏆 Lakeridge Heights wrapped up Camp with a round of staff vs resident games
⏱️ Aspen Heights put everyone to the test with their hilarious Minute to Win It challenge!

Win or lose, the best part is always the same: staff and residents cheering each other on and laughing together. That's what community looks like 💛

Growing older happens, but growing up is entirely optional 😄

At the start of ASC Summer Camp, our residents raised their hands and took the Camper's Pledge. They swore to wear their tie-dye with pride, laugh loudly at our wonderfully goofy staff, treat every craft like a masterpiece worthy of the fridge, and never, under any circumstances, skip a scheduled snack. (Snacks, as we all learned, are serious Camp business.)

Looking back on it, they kept every word!

We upheld the pledge. We made the memories ⛺️😆

What was your favourite moment from Camp this year? Tell us in the comments.

Warning: this one will make you laugh out loud 😂

Aspen Heights took on the Minute to Win It classic "Junk in the Trunk," an empty tissue box full of ping pong balls tied around the waist, where the only way to win is to shake, shake, shake! 🏓

Our residents (and a few brave staff) gave it everything they had, and the whole room was in stitches. Proof that a little sfun goes a long way. 💛

Sound on and enjoy 🔊

We always knew our residents were young at heart!

Last week, all of our communities celebrated Summer Camp, reliving memories and creating new ones. Along with smash art, talent shows, tie-dyeing, plenty of games and yes, water balloons, they reminded us of a few things: you're never too old to have fun; you can always learn and try something new; and the best treats are the ones you share.
Swipe through the lessons ASC Camp taught us, from the people who know best.

What would your camp name be? Tell us in the comments!

Day 3 of ASC Summer Camp 2026 🏕️ and what a way to finish!

Our campers made the most of the sunshine, taking the celebrations outside to the patio for fire pits, s'mores and plenty of laughs. Seine River gathered around the fire for a campfire sing-along with Tannis Tyler and toasted s'mores 🔥🎶, while College Park and Summit Heights kept their own campfire songs going.

And then there was the watermelon! 🍉
The Watermelon Eating Contest was the company's headline event. At Preston Park 2, resident Jean took the win for the residents with a mighty 4 lbs!
Cataraqui Heights, Seine River, Summit Heights and Beacon Heights got in on the juicy competition too!

There was no shortage of fun elsewhere. Aspen Heights toasted the week with a special Happy Hour 🍹, Chapel Hill's kickball game had residents laughing to tears, Lakeridge Heights faced off at a giant game of KerPlunk (staff versus residents, of course), and Shaftesbury Park and River Ridge 1 put their new compass skills to the test on a trail to some sweet treats.

Three days, endless sunshine, and more memories than we can count. Until next summer, campers 💛

One hundred years of life, love, and stories for sharing.

We recently had the honour of celebrating Mme Masson D's 100th birthday at Résidences de la Gappe, and we can't think of a better way to mark a day dedicated to celebrating seniors.

A century holds decades of memories, generations of family, and a lifetime of wisdom we're lucky to have in our community. Every day, our residents remind us that life stays rich and full at any age, and Mme Masson is proof.

Happy 100th birthday; thank you for letting us celebrate you.

Join us in wishing her a wonderful year ahead in the comments!

Our campers spent the morning getting crafty and a little competitive. At Seine River and Shaftesbury Park, tables filled up with bear origami and towering marble tracks, and both homes turned fresh-picked blooms into handmade flower bouquets 💐

Chapel Hill fired up a BBQ lunch to power the afternoon, while River Ridge 1 paired their bouquet making with DIY bag charms. Victoria Landing got crafting with beads and charms, then welcomed the little ones from Kokum's Daycare for a friendly game of target toss.

The friendly rivalry was in full swing too! Preston Park 2 hosted a Residents vs Staff Curling Showdown, and yes, the residents took the win 🥌

Sturgeon Creek 1 residents claimed the trophy at pétanque, River Ridge 1 kept score at ladder ball, and McCarthy Place turned up the fun with iced lattes, keychain making and a Talent Showcase that had the whole room cheering.

From camp bingo to nature walks and marble runs, Day 2 was packed with laughter, teamwork and a whole lot of heart 💛

Whatever the activity, one thing looked the same at every residence: the smiles. On to Day 3!

In July, residents at Sturgeon Creek I and River Ridge I got behind Lemonade Stands for Hope, setting up their stands and selling lemonade to residents, families, staff and visitors.

The money raised went to CancerCare Manitoba, turning a simple summer activity into an impactful fundraiser.

With Lemonade Stand Day coming up on August 20, we’re looking forward to seeing what this year brings. Squeezing lemons for a cause never gets old around here.
