This is one of the distinctions I find most useful in Human Design.
We are accustomed to thinking that a good decision is one we can explain.
Why did you choose it?
Because...
Then we build the story.
Sometimes the story comes first.
Sometimes it comes afterward.
Human Design gives us the concept of Authority to investigate something different:
How does this particular person actually arrive at what is correct for them?
That question becomes very different once you stop assuming the mind has to be the final authority.
And it gets even more interesting because Authority isn't identical across people.
An Emotional Authority has a very different decision-making process from a Splenic Authority. Neither is more evolved, neither is more rational. They are different mechanics.
For me, that is where Human Design becomes less like a personality system and more like a study of how humans actually know.
