Our Mission
Through clinical excellence and a continuum of mental health services, our mission is to reduce suffering, provide hope and enhance the quality of life of infants, children, youth and families. Who We Are
The George Hull Centre is a leading children's mental health centre in Toronto, serving thousands of children and families each year. We provide a continuum of innovative, evidence-ba

sed and evidence-informed mental health services from prevention and early intervention programs, to treatment services that include a community clinic, residential and in-home programs, and specialized day treatment classrooms for elementary and secondary students. Our multidisciplinary team of experts provide help and support to children whose lives are impacted by mental health issues, many in very complex ways. We are highly regarded as a centre of clinical excellence in children's mental health and are proud to be a Teaching Centre for the University of Toronto. We help children with mental health issues live a better childhood and a brighter future.

Big Feelings Are Normal 💙
Starting a new school year can bring excitement—and nerves. That's true for children of all ages.
When big feelings show up:
✨ Validate them: "It's okay to feel nervous. Lots of people do."
✨ Offer reassurance: "We'll get through this together."
✨ Remind them: "You've faced new challenges before, and you've grown because of them."
Sometimes, feeling heard is the best back-to-school support you can give.

Routines Build Confidence 💙
As children get ready for a new school year, predictable routines can help them feel safe, supported and ready for the day ahead.
Try starting with:
⏰ A consistent wake-up time
📵 Healthy screen-time boundaries
😴 Earlier bedtimes
🎒 Packing backpacks the night before
Small routines today can help create calmer, more confident mornings tomorrow.

Back-to-School Brings Big Feelings 💙
A new school year can bring excitement, curiosity—and sometimes worry or uncertainty. That's true for children and caregivers.
As you prepare for the first day:
💬 Check in about how they're feeling.
👂 Listen with curiosity, not judgment.
❤️ Let them know that all feelings are welcome.
🌟 Remind them they don't have to navigate it alone.
Sometimes, the most important thing you can pack for back-to-school is connection.

Instead of gifts, invite your friends and family to donate to the George Hull Centre.
Together, we can create brighter futures—one celebration at a time.

Wellness Starts with Small Steps 🌱
You don't have to make big changes to support your mental well-being. Sometimes, it's the little things that make the biggest difference.
This , try:
✨ Getting enough sleep
🚶 Moving your body in a way you enjoy
🌳 Spending time in nature
📵 Taking a break from screens
💙 Being kind to yourself
At the George Hull Centre, we know that caring for our mental health is an important part of caring for ourselves—and each other.

Wellness Grows Through Connection 💙
One of the most powerful ways to support our mental well-being is by staying connected—to our families, our friends and our communities.
This , take a moment to:
💬 Check in with someone you care about.
🚶 Spend time together outdoors.
🎨 Make time for play, creativity or laughter.
❤️ Let someone know they're not alone.
Small moments of connection can have a lasting impact on our mental health.
