Is It Piriformis Syndrome… or a Disc Injury? 🤔
That deep glute pain…
The sharp ache down your leg…
The “sciatica” that won’t go away…
Here’s something most people don’t realize 👇
Sciatica isn’t actually a diagnosis.
It’s a symptom.
Two of the most common causes we see in downtown Toronto are:
🔹 Piriformis Syndrome – a tight muscle in the glute compressing the sciatic nerve
🔹 Lumbar Disc Herniation – a disc in the lower back pressing on a nerve root
They can feel very similar.
But they are not treated the same way.
👉 Piriformis pain often worsens with sitting and feels deep in the glute.
👉 Disc-related pain often includes lower back pain and symptoms that travel below the knee.
If you’ve been stretching randomly hoping it goes away… you may be targeting the wrong problem.
At The Well Adjusted Chiropractic Centre, we perform detailed orthopedic and neurological testing to determine where your sciatic pain is truly coming from — the spine or the muscle.
If you’re in Toronto and dealing with persistent leg pain, numbness, or tingling, don’t guess.
Let’s find the real cause.
