Every sound shapes their world. πŸ‘‚

At AudioSense, our infant hearing screenings are quick, gentle, and designed to give parents peace of mind from the very beginning. For $110, families can access a fast, non-invasive screening at both our Downtown and Markham clinic, that supports healthy speech, language, and overall development.

The Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) test evaluates how certain parts of the ear respond to sound. During the test, a soft earphone is placed in your baby's ear canal, playing sounds and measuring an "echo" response, which occurs in ears with normal hearing.

Because every little sound matters. 🧑

πŸ‘‚ Could you be missing the signs of hearing loss?

Hearing loss often develops gradually, making it easy to overlook the early signs. If you find yourself asking people to repeat themselves, turning up the TV, or struggling to follow conversations in noisy places, it may be time for a hearing assessment.

Early detection can help you stay connected to the people and moments that matter most. If any of these signs sound familiar, our team is here to help.

🧠 Tinnitus isn't just an ear issueβ€”it's a brain issue too.

When hearing changes occur, your brain may turn up the volume on internal sounds, making tinnitus more noticeable. Understanding how your brain processes sound is the first step toward effective tinnitus management.

πŸ‘‚πŸš« Wax Wednesday: Your Ears' Worst Enemy? Q-Tips!

Cotton swabs may feel satisfying, but they often push ear wax deeper into the ear canal, causing blockage, discomfort, and even temporary hearing loss.

✨ Your ears are self-cleaning. When wax becomes a problem, professional removal is the safer solution.

πŸŒ™ Tinnitus Tuesday: Does your tinnitus seem louder at night?

You're not imagining it. During the day, everyday sounds help mask tinnitus. At night, the quiet makes it more noticeable.

πŸ’‘ A fan, white noise, or soft background sounds can help. If tinnitus is affecting your sleep or daily life, a hearing assessment is a great first step.

πŸ‘‚ MYTH OR FACT MONDAY

"If my baby responds to sounds, they don't need a newborn screening."

Swipe through to see the answer ➑️

A baby can respond to some sounds and still have hearing loss. That's why newborn hearing screening is so importantβ€”it checks how well the hearing system is working, not just whether a baby reacts to noise.
