The role and authority of the College is set out in the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA), the Health Professions Procedural Code, the Audiology an

d Speech-Language Pathology Act, 1991 (ASLPA), and the regulation, made under these Acts along with the policies and by-laws of the College. To Protect the Public, the College:

- Sets the education and other qualifications necessary to enter the professions;

- Administers quality assurance programs that members are required to participate in to help maintain their competence;

- Develops professional and ethical standards and guidelines;

- Provides complaint and discipline processes for people who feel that the standards have not been met. Patients/clients must be able to put their trust in those who treat them. The College is dedicated to supporting its over 4,000 audiologists and speech-language pathologist members in their delivery of high-quality ethical care.

📢 Registration Now Open: E-Forum on Understanding Intimate Partner Violence

Join CASLPO and other Ontario health regulatory colleges for a free virtual education session titled Understanding Intimate Partner Violence: Recognition, Response and Resources.

The panel will explore how regulated health professionals can recognize, respond to, and support individuals experiencing intimate partner violence while providing safe, compassionate, and trauma-informed care.

The session is open to all CASLPO registrants and will be recorded for those who are unable to attend live.

📣 Reminder: Submit your feedback on a proposed change to CASLPO’s Fees By-law

CASLPO is seeking registrant feedback on a proposed change to its Fees By-law.
The proposed amendment would allow annual fee adjustments of up to the yearly increase in the Ontario Consumer Price Index (CPI), subject to Board approval.

Annual registration fees for the 2026–2027 renewal year will remain unchanged.

The anonymous survey closes August 25, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

On August 1, 1834, slavery was abolished across much of the British Empire. Emancipation Day is an opportunity to honour the resilience, contributions, and leadership of Black and Indigenous communities, while recognizing the lasting impacts of racism and colonialism that continue to affect individuals and communities today.
