You can love your family and still need some time to come back to yourself afterwards.

Family gatherings can bring up old roles, familiar dynamics, sensory overload, social fatigue or feelings you weren't expecting.

Sometimes you just need quiet.

No big lesson.

No dramatic explanation.

Just a little room to decompress.

Send this to your post-dinner decompression person.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁

Sometimes, we feel like reaching out for mental-health support needs to be justified by things getting really bad.

But caring for your mental health can be proactive, too.

Therapy can be a place to understand yourself better, notice patterns, strengthen your relationships, or simply pay attention to how you’re doing.

You don’t have to earn support by reaching a breaking point. Taking care of your mind is part of taking care of yourself.

We talk about mental health more than we ever have.

And that matters.

But mental health isn’t one universal experience. It doesn’t always look the way we expect it to. It doesn’t fit neatly into a statistic, a diagnosis, or an Instagram post.
Instead, it is anchored on understanding. And understanding begins with listening.

To the person in front of us.
To what they’ve lived through.
To what they’re carrying.
To what they need now.

So this World Mental Health Day, maybe the conversation doesn’t need to be louder.

Maybe it needs to make more room for each other.

What do you wish more people understood about mental health?

We've become very good at turning complicated behaviour into very simple labels.

Someone is selfish.

They're toxic.
They're a narcissist.
They're gaslighting you.

Sometimes those words describe something real and important.

But sometimes, they're being used to explain behaviour that is hurtful, frustrating or disappointing without necessarily telling us what is actually happening.

Therapy language can give us a way to understand patterns.

It can also flatten people into labels when what we really need is a closer look at the behaviour, the relationship and what keeps happening between you.

What therapy word has the internet stretched beyond recognition?

For a long time, conversations about mental health and conversations about nutrition have mostly lived in separate worlds.

But we’re learning more about just how connected our systems really are.

Which raises some interesting questions about what “taking care of ourselves” actually looks like.

Not perfection. Not another wellness rulebook. Just a broader conversation about the many things that can support how we feel.

Would you like to hear more about the connection between nutrition and mental health on the podcast? Tell us what you’re curious about. 👀

Sometimes “I'm fine” really does mean fine.

And sometimes it means, I don't even know where I'd start if I tried to explain how I'm doing.

When you're already carrying a lot, asking for support can feel like one more thing to organise, explain, or make time for.

So you keep going.

You answer the messages. You meet the deadlines. You show up for everyone else.

And eventually, “fine” becomes the easiest answer.

Send this to the friend who communicates primarily through “all good.”

You can’t make every hard thing easier for your teen.

The friendship stuff. The pressure they put on themselves. The big questions about university, careers and what they’re supposed to do with their life.

Resilience Growth Labs gives teens and young adults a therapist-led space to build practical skills for managing stress, navigating setbacks, growing their confidence and adapting when things don’t go according to plan.

Because you won’t always be able to clear the road ahead of them. But you can help them become more prepared for what they meet along the way.

ADHD can look like having everything organised because you know what happens when you don't.

The colour-coded calendar.

The over-preparing.

The reminders for the reminders.

The deadline you have been thinking about for three weeks but still can't quite start.

From the outside, it can look like you're managing.

Inside, it can take an enormous amount of effort to keep everything moving.

ADHD doesn't always look like obvious disorganisation. Sometimes it looks like someone who has become very good at compensating.

If this feels familiar, it may be worth learning more rather than simply assuming you need to try harder.

When did “Did you pack her lunch?” become quality time?

It happens to the best of us.

Relationships can slowly turn into very efficient small businesses. There are calendars. Deliverables. Transportation logistics. Budget meetings. Someone is always following up about something.

Except somewhere in all that efficiency, it’s easy to forget that this was supposed to be a relationship, too.

Our couples workshop is a chance to clock out of operations for a minute and come back to each other.

No crisis. No dramatic intervention.

Just a little attention paid to something pretty important.
