Help shape the future of special education in your community!

Autism Ontario is looking for volunteers to represent our organization as a representative or alternate member on their local Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC).

SEAC members play an important role in advising school boards on special education programs. Your voice, experience, and perspective can help support meaningful change and ensure the needs of students with exceptionalities and their families are represented.

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, autistic adult, professional, or community member, your experience can help make a difference.

To be eligible, you must:
✔ Be 18 years of age or older
✔ Be a Canadian citizen
✔ Reside within the school board’s jurisdiction and pay taxes to that school board
✔ Not be an employee of the school board
✔ Not have been convicted of an indictable criminal offence

Halton District School Board (representative & alternate)
Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (representative & alternate)
Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (alternate only)
Upper Grand District School Board (alternate only)
Waterloo Catholic District School Board (representative & alternate)

Come join us at Mini Indy for this exclusive event!

August 26th, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Cost: $5 per person. No refunds.

Families will get a chance to have one round of 18 holes of mini golf, all families will have access to Mini Indy's Maze! There will be NO go-karting included with this event.

A limited number of tickets are available. Max of 5 tickets per family.

This location is not wheelchair accessible.

August 9th, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Join us for a fun-filled Summer Social. Spend some time connecting with others and enjoying a variety of activities for all ages. Get creative at our craft tables, show off your style with face painting, and challenge each other to some fun oversized games and mini putt.

The playground and splash pad are nearby, so don’t forget to pack your sunscreen, towel and bathing suit! Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch or snacks.

Backpacks for autistic individuals heading back to school will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Whether you’re looking to relax, make some new connections or enjoy some summer fun, this is a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the season.
