New sandals, hiking boots, longer walks, weekend adventuresโ€ฆ your feet are working overtime this season, and blisters are usually the first sign they need a little extra TLC.

Taz's top 4 tips to keep you blister-free all summer long:
1. Break in new footwear gradually
2. Manage Moisture & Friction by choosing the right socks.
Skip cotton socks, which trap moisture and soften skin. Instead, opt for synthetic fibers (polyester, nylon, Coolmax) or merino wool, as these wick sweat away.
3. Recurring blisters in the same spot often signal that your foot movement is creating extra pressure in that area.
4. Do NOT pop blisters if you can avoid it, the fluid protects the skin underneath while it heals

If a blister is painful, large, or recurring, don't ignore it. Book an appointment for safe treatment and get back on your feet comfortably.

Thick toenails are often dismissed as a normal part of aging, but they can signal more than just time. Common causes include fungal infections (onychomycosis), repeated trauma from footwear, and underlying conditions such as psoriasis, diabetes, or circulation issues. A professional assessment can determine the cause and guide effective treatment before the condition progresses.

Turf toe is a sprain of the big toe joint caused by excessive bending or strain, often during sports or other weight-bearing activity. Treatment may include taping, stiff-soled footwear, orthotics, padding, activity modification, and hands-on care to support recovery.

Book a consultation with a chiropodist to have your pain assessed and find the treatment approach best suited to your needs.

Not all foot pain responds to the same approach, which is why temporary measures may not be enough to resolve ongoing discomfort. When symptoms persist or recur, a chiropodist can identify the underlying cause and recommend an appropriate treatment plan to support longer-term relief.
