Oh hi🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ it's been a while! A combination of work stress, general busyness, and overwhelm at everything going on in the world had me taking a step back from social media these last few months -- for what I think is a longer break than I've had since joining IG😅

The time away has been good, and I can't think of a better way to come back than with a roundup of some of my favourite Canadian products🇨🇦 -- everyday items that I've been enjoying reaching for regularly🤩

Happy long weekend Monday!🦃🍁🍂 Canadian Thanksgiving has never been a big event in my family, but it's always a clear indicator that fall is in full swing, and recent cooler temperatures definitely reflect that too! My skin has been feeling the weather shift🌬, so it's been the perfect time to test out 's petroleum jelly alternatives🤩 (*kindly gifted)

Created by the founders of , Beesaluxe's all-purpose moisturizers ($12.95-24.95 CAD, depending on size) are handmade in Canada from raw plant-based oils and waxes in lieu of petroleum derivatives🙌🙌

I couldn't even guess the last time I used petroleum jelly -- maybe 20 years ago??😯🤣 -- but I sure do love a good multi-use product and Beeseline (and its vegan sister, Vegaline) are just that! Like Vaseline or petroleum jelly, they have a million and one uses, but my favourites have been as:
💅 a nourishing cuticle butter
👄 a silky lip moisturizer
🤲 a rich overnight hand + foot treatment

Both versions have a soft, silky, and creamy balm consistency that melts into the skin on contact. They're made with minimal ingredients, differing only in the waxes🌰 Beeseline is, of course, made with beeswax, plus a honey infusion🍯, while Vegaline contains soy and coconut🥥 waxes instead. Both are made with rapeseed oil, Vitamin E, and rosemary extract...and that's it!

Both versions are unscented and have very minimal-to-no scent. I think both are great and the two are pretty interchangeable for most uses, but I do prefer the Beeseline on my lips as it has a hint of a sweeter aroma courtesy of the beeswax and honey🐝 Beeseline is also available in a few different scented versions🍦🍓🍃

Happy long weekend Monday!🥳🎉 's cream products get a lot of (well-deserved🙏) hype, but their powder range often flies a little under the radar😯🤷‍♀️

Which is a shame since I, for one, think the powder products are pretty dang phenomenal too!🤩 I'll save more about the foundation for its own dedicated post, but I want to take today to highlight the brand's cheek products ($28 USD / $39 CAD USD for 6.75 grams each), which I've been having a serious moment with lately🙌🙌

I fell in love with the the Pure Powder Bronzer in Kissed* in Au Naturale's Powder Trial kit mid-2023 and knew I had to get my hands on a full size sooner rather than later! I've enjoyed other bronzers before, but this is the first one that's seamlessly worked its way into my makeup routine to the point where I'm legitimately reaching for it naturally every single time I wear makeup. It has a satin-matte finish and, while the colour looks pretty warm in a swatch, it blends out beautifully on my face and never looks orangey or unnatural😎☀️

The Pure Powder Blush in Pink Lady* is a pinky-mauve with a similar satin matte finish to the bronzer. I only have a mini of this shade, again from the trial set, but I really enjoy it. Pink Champagne*, which I do have in the full size, is one of only two luminous blushes in the range, and is a beautiful pink-leaning coral with a golden sheen. It's very glowy, but without any actual glitter👏💖

The Pure Powder Highlighter in Aura* is described as a muted coral and is a really unique shade with a pale warm pink base and a golden reflect. Like the Pink Champagne Blush, it adds a glowy, luminous, and lit-from-within look to the skin😍 The highlighter is smooth, versatile and very easy to work with -- both buildable and easy to blend -- so you can achieve either a more subtle and natural look or build it up to something more dramatic🌟 Just like the blush, there is no glitter in the highlighter, and it doesn't emphasize pores or texture🔥

🧼Summer Hygiene Favourites🧼
Happy long weekend Monday! I want to highlight a few more utilitarian products today -- we tend to focus on shinier makeup and skincare, but these everyday products more than deserve their moment in the spotlight too😋💗:

Whitening Toothpaste* - this is the 2nd time I've included this in a favourites post this year, but I just like it *that* much😂😂 The gentle formula is fluoride + glycerin free and made with remineralizing calcium hydroxyapatite, and the toothpaste has a nice minty flavour. It leaves my mouth fresh and clean and, while I haven't noticed dramatic whitening effects, I do think it's made a small difference🦷 {My code, NATURALLABEAUTY, always saves 10% at Wellnesse!}

Coconut Deodorant - I've used this deodorant on and off for years and it remains one of my very favourites!🤩 On first glance, it's a fairly standard baking soda formula, however it also contains naturally antibacterial Chinese herbs to boost the deodorant's efficacy and nourish the skin🙌🙌 The deodorant has no added scent and smells only faintly of the best virgin coconut oil🥥, and it keeps me smelling fresh through a full day, hot summer temps, and/or an intense workout👟👏 It's a deo I know I can always count on!

SoftSuds Bar Soap Envelope* - these soap envelopes are a great tool to help bar soaps last longer, and they're also amazing at getting a lush and bubbly lather out of even the most underperforming bars (hey, it happens sometimes😅🙈) The envelopes also offer skin a very gentle exfoliation, are made in Canada from recycled plastic bottles, and are easily washable in the washing machine🙌

HydrExtreme Advanced Lip Serum - made with Consonant's hero HydrExtreme, a humectant polysaccharide that's been shown to outperform hyaluronic acid, along with oat kernel, castor, and jojoba oils, the Lip Serum is an effective lip treatment with a pretty glossy finish to boot🌟 I layered this under a more protective balm in the winter, but in the warmer weather, it truly shines (pun intended😉) and has done a great job keeping my lips soft and moisturized all on its own💋

A different kind of today with the Floral Botanical Face Steam* from 🌸🌷🌼 How pretty is this flowery mix?🤩🤩

The Floral Face Steam is like a tea for your face😂 made from organic calendula, chamomile, lavender, rose, and fennel. It's a balanced blend that smells sweetly floral but not overpowering🥰 The process is as simple as brewing a cup of tea too. Nothing fancy needed, just a large bowl, boiling water, a towel and 5-10 minutes for the steam itself♨️

Face steaming isn't a regular part of my skincare routine, but this has definitely reminded me what a nice addition it can be! Facial steams are great for softening skin, promoting circulation, and adding an extra level of deep pore cleaning before a face mask, which is how I used this one over the weekend🙌🙌

Is there any better backdrop than a puppy?😄🐕 (Swipe for a better, drug-free look at the colours in photo 3)

After yesterday's MOTD post, I wanted to bring out and compare some of my favourite purple blushes/face products💜

I always gravitate towards lilac or purpley blushes -- on my fair and cool-toned skin, they're inevitably some of my favourite cheek shades😍 The five featured here all have a good amount of pink in them, but the hint of purple or plum adds some beautiful nuance👏 You can definitely dial up the purple saturation on deeper skintones, and I would probably steer clear of the first two if you're considerably darker than me, since they both are pretty light🤷‍♀️

💜Purple, but make it subtle💜 Soft purple inspired by 's Sangria Lip Colour* (PR/gifted), a beautiful sheer purple lipstick with the dreamiest formula🤩

Lauren Brooke makes some of my favourite lip products, and the Lip Colours are right up there💋 The formula is incredibly moisturizing and is made with standout and predominantly organic ingredients like castor, olive, jojoba, and pomegranate seed oils, avocado and shea butters, beeswax, and vitamin E, and the colour range runs the full spectrum of opacity: from full pigment lipsticks to more sheer/jelly shades like Sangria🍇

As you can see in the last photo, Sangria looks darker in the tube, but, because of its sheerness, is much softer on the lips. It's really just a sheer wash of colour -- a my-lips-but-purpler, if you will😄💜

I rounded out the subtle purple vibes with a mauvey eye and lavender blush. Also on my face:
