It never fails, as soon as you start wanting to make changes in baby’s sleep patterns to get everyone more sleep baby suddenly starts teething, or they get sick from daycare or some other blip happens, especially after you have already started the shifts and start seeing some progress.
🌘
Try to be consistent with the changes even during times of blips and things will even themselves out again.
🌓
Remember too that change will not happen overnight. It takes babies longer to shift patterns over time than an adult. Patience.

While I don’t sleep train any pattern changes you want to make to your baby’s sleep will be wasted if done before 6 months.
🌘
The sleep “regression” that takes place in that 4-6months period will undo everything you’ve done.
🌓
As a Baby-Led Sleep and Wellness Specialist, we can chat about what to expect, what’s happening from a physical and developmental standpoint, and how to survive this period.
🌖
Plus I will never tell you to leave your baby to cry alone.

It might seem like a bedtime battle is just your toddler being naughty, making excuses, being difficult and sleep training with Ferber or CIO might seem like the right way to go.
🌘
However, there could be other reasons why your child is fighting bedtime.
- Separation anxiety
- Not sleepy enough
- inconsistent wake and bedtimes
- disruptions in routine
- new routines
- illness, teething
- sleep environment
- low iron, restlessness
🌓
Before embarking on a change of behaviour sleep training method, let’s talk about your options so we can preserve attachment and get you and your baby more sleep.

Around the age of four months, your baby’s sleep stages will begin to reorganize themselves to look more like adult stages of non-REM and REM sleep.
🌘
Add on to that the developmental leaps that are happening such as rolling over and more awareness of their surroundings, sleep will most definitely be disrupted.
🌓
But it won’t last forever and you will survive it. And this is a fantastic time to start getting into a consistent bedtime routine, setting those sleep anchor points and a rhythm in your naps.

Early sleep with your infant can feel daunting. You’re trying to recover from birth, figuring out feeding and your baby is only sleeping 1-2 hours at a time. Everyone is asking if your baby is sleeping through the night and telling you they should be sleeping 7-7 and you feel like your baby is broken or that you are doing something wrong. They only want to contact nap and you can’t get anything done, even if you had the energy to do it.
🌘
I get it. Let me help you understand what is normal for newborn/infant sleep and discuss how we can get you more sleep and lay down the foundations for better sleep beyond the newborn stage.
- In-depth intake form to evaluate baby and the family
- 60 minute call to discuss sleep challenges & sleep education
- Evaluation of baby’s sleep space and discussion of safe sleep
- Help with tips and advice to begin laying the foundation for better sleep moving forward.
- 1 week of text support from 9am to 6pm for questions about sleep, feeding, attachment or anything postpartum related
- On going group support through Skool
