Happy 111th Birthday, Marie R!💐💚

Today we're celebrating something extraordinary. Marie Rosa, a resident at The Village of Humber Heights, turns 111 years old, and is Canada's oldest living person.

Born in 1915, Marie Rosa has lived through two World Wars, the Great Depression, and more than a century of change. But ask her daughter Cathie what explains a life this long and this full, and it isn't a diet or a routine. It's family. Cathie remembers Sunday dinners growing up, homemade pasta, homemade sauce, and always more chairs pulled up to the table for whoever showed up. "It didn't matter how many chairs there were for the table," she says. "There were always more chairs."

Marie Rosa's own philosophy is just as simple. As Cathie puts it, "She always tells people when she's talking to them that you've got to love everybody, right? You love everybody. Everybody is precious."

Happy 111th birthday, Marie Rosa! From all of us across Schlegel Villages, thank you for showing us what a life built on love looks like.
