COVID-19 Update
Dear Patients,
First of all, I hope this finds you and your family well and safe. I would like to thank you for your patience over the last few months as we tried to gain some clarity as to how we can begin to reopen given the COVID-19 restrictions.
In anticipation of news from the Ministry of Health and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) as businesses in Ontario start to reopen, I would like to update you as to some of the protocols we will follow to ensure the safety of both you, your family and our staff when we can see you again.
1. Staff will be screened for COVID symptoms and contacts everyday before they begin their shift
2. Patient pre-screening/appointment confirmation COVID screening will be done over the phone. There will be a questionnaire we will go over with you, and if we are unable to complete this step, we will have to reschedule your appointment
3. Patients will be screened for COVID symptoms upon arrival at the clinic
4. Appointments will be staggered to minimize wait time in the reception area. We hope to be able to take you to the treatment room as soon as you arrive. Should you need to wait in the reception area, a mask will be provided for you
5. Magazines and toys have been removed from the reception area. Hand sanitizer will be made available to patients
6. A custom made sneeze guard has been installed in the reception area
7. More Personal Protective Equipment (Face Shields, Gowns, Surgical Caps, Masks) will be used by our clinical staff. We are one stop short from looking like Darth Vader
8. Air Purification systems have been installed to remove aerosols and germs
9. Physical distancing while in the office
10. A pre-procedural oral rinse will be given to all patients
11. Enhanced operatory disinfection procedures have been implemented
12. High contact surfaces in the office will be frequently cleaned with disinfectant wipes
13. Protocols have been introduced to reduce or eliminate air borne aerosols during dental procedures
14. Outside mail and packages are disinfected when they are delivered to the clinic
15. Special appointment times will be available to our senior patients and patients with medical conditions
I will keep you updated when we get more directives from the RCDSO. I hope to be able to give you a start day soon.
If you have any questions or concerns, I am in the office during the week and I am always just an email away.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon. In the mean time, please stay well and safe.
