Early drug monitoring helps fine-tune Ustekinumab dosing
Studies in adults have shown that Ustekinumab is effective for helping to achieve and maintain remission. However, there has been limited research on the best dose for children. We wanted to test whether smaller kids who weigh less need a different dose per kg and whether a different dosing approach based on body surface area, which may better match a child’s individual size, might work better. Read a summary of this study on our blog @ ccibdn.ca. The full article is published in Crohn’s & Colitis 360

Intestinal ultrasound is a valuable, non-invasive tool in IBD care, especially in pediatric IBD, where minimizing sedation and radiation exposure is critical.
The CCIBDN Summit 2026 kicked off with a special half-day symposium on Intestinal Ulstrasound in Pediatric IBD. Participants attended a workshop with breakout discussions and a hands-on skills session to gain an understanding of standardized approaches to clinical integration, and develop research priorities. This event was held in conjunction with the CCIBDN Summit 2026, which will continue April 19 & 20.
