Tipis hold deep significance for many Indigenous Peoples of the Plains, reflecting a strong connection to land, family, and community.

In recognition of National Indigenous History Month, we’ve raised a tipi on the front grounds of our Winnipeg campus for the ninth year – offering a space for all colleagues to engage in reflection, learning, and respect for Indigenous traditions and ways of knowing.

Thank you to Tipi Joe and Tipi Joe Creations for leading the installation and sharing knowledge about the tipi and its cultural significance.

Last month, we announced a contribution of $100,000 to support the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation.

The donation will support the Foundation’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community through innovative research, chronic disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and wellness programming.

In recognition of International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia, colleagues came together through events and conversations to deepen allyship and understanding.

Participants also shared messages of support, recognition and inclusion by writing notes to members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The message was clear: you are seen, valued, and celebrated.
