This may strike you as inflammatory, ridiculous, maybe even offensive, but I have been saying this for many years -- climate change presents us with not one Holocaust, in terms of human deaths, but 1000 Holocausts.
Unless we either slow it down drastically, invent some genius s**t to "adapt" to living on effectively a different planet, or......pray really, really hard for Divine Intervention.
So yes, in terms of "impact on humanity", Trump is definitely worse than Hi**er. Chomsky is bang-on. As usual.
The main reason that society-at-large doesn't realize this yet, is because the vast majority of people have very little understanding of the interlinked relationships between the world's major systems, which ultimately control the life-support system we call the Biosphere. Plus, they have very little understanding of the nonlinear way that these systems change, once they are pushed past their organizational "threshold points".
It's like a building that gets hits by a wrecking ball, over and over and over. At some point, it collapses.
We're basically bashing our life-supporting Biosphere, 24/7, with planet-sized wrecking balls. It's been stressed right up to the very limit, and in many cases past the limit, of all of its "threshold points".
Kinda puts the US election in a different perspective, eh?
