Zinc plays an important role in memory, learning, and healthy brain aging.
A new study of nearly 69,000 people found that getting the recommended amount of zinc, especially when combined with regular exercise, was associated with slower biological ageing.
But there’s a catch: too little zinc may impair cognitive function, while too much (>40 mg/day) was linked to accelerated biological ageing.
The takeaway? When it comes to zinc, balance matters. Aim for a healthy diet, stay active, and think twice before reaching for high-dose supplements.
