Your feet absorb an incredible amount of force:
▪️ Walking
▪️ Running
▪️ Standing for hours
▪️ Sports & workouts
▪️ Daily wear and tear

That extra-thick skin helps protect you — but when pressure becomes excessive, it can also lead to:
👣 Calluses & corns
👣 Cracked heels
👣 Painful pressure points
👣 Skin breakdown

Foot discomfort isn’t something you just have to “live with.” Proper foot care, footwear, and routine assessments can help keep your feet healthy and pain-free.

Your feet work hard for you every day — don’t forget to take care of them. 🦶

Toronto’s bouldering scene is growing fast 🧗‍♂️ — and while climbing is an incredible full-body workout, your feet do a LOT more work than people realize.

Between tight climbing shoes, repetitive pressure, toe gripping, and impact from drops, climbers commonly deal with:
👣 Toenail trauma
👣 Calluses & blisters
👣 Achilles/calf tightness
👣 Toe pain & cramping
👣 Ankle instability
👣 Overuse injuries

A strong climb starts from the ground up. Proper recovery, mobility, footwear fit, and foot strength can help keep you on the wall longer — and out of pain.

Whether you’re projecting your next V-grade or just getting into climbing, don’t ignore foot discomfort that keeps coming back.

Your feet carry you through life — but foot health is often overlooked until pain starts affecting everyday activities. 👣

Foot health is not “just feet.” It impacts mobility, independence, diabetes care, fall prevention, work, sports, and overall quality of life.
Early assessment and treatment can make a huge difference — whether it’s foot pain, skin/nail concerns, biomechanics, diabetic foot care, or injury prevention.

Don’t ignore foot pain because it’s “common.” Common doesn’t mean normal. 👣

Nail fungus doesn’t have to mean hiding your toes. 👣

If you’ve been dealing with thick, discoloured, or brittle nails — you’re not alone. And no, topical creams don’t always cut it. That’s where ToeFX comes in.

This in-clinic treatment uses a special light-activated solution to target fungus safely and effectively — without oral medications.

Why patients like it:
✔ No systemic side effects
✔ Quick, non-invasive sessions
✔ Safe for most people
✔ Works alongside nail care + debridement

But here’s the key:
👉 It’s not a one-time fix. Consistency + proper nail care = best results.

Healthy nail growth takes time — but this helps you get there faster and safer.

Think you might have nail fungus? The earlier you treat it, the better the outcome.

Foot Fact Friday 🦶

Ever wonder why a black toenail seems to take forever to grow out? 👣

Toenails actually grow about three times slower than fingernails, which means it can take up to a full year for a completely new toenail to grow in. Patience (and proper foot care) is key when it comes to nail recovery! 💛

Have you noticed how long your toenails take to grow?

This door takes pressure off of primary care.

Behind this door, patients get timely assessment and treatment for foot pain, wounds, injuries, diabetic foot concerns, skin and nail conditions, custom orthotics, and more, helping reduce unnecessary ER visits and wait times for family doctors.

As part of Foot Health Month, we’re proud to recognize the important role chiropodists and podiatrists play in keeping our community healthy, mobile, and on their feet. 💙

Your feet have muscles too — and most people aren’t using them. 🦶

If you’re dealing with foot fatigue, arch pain, or just feel unstable on your feet…there’s a good chance your intrinsic foot muscles need work.

These small muscles are responsible for:
→ Supporting your arch
→ Improving balance
→ Reducing strain on bigger structures (like your plantar fascia)

Start with these 5 simple exercises:
• Toe squeezes
• Toe spreads
• Toe taps
• Towel curls
• Short foot

Focus on control, not speed — if your toes are clawing or cramping, reset and slow down.

Do them daily and you’ll start to notice:
✔ Better foot control
✔ Less fatigue by the end of the day
✔ Stronger, more stable arches

Your feet are your foundation — train them like it.

Spent the day volunteering with the Toronto Marathon Medical Team! It was super cold but everyone did so well!

We treated quite a few large painful blisters, bloody toenails and ankle sprains - we hope everyone who ran today can give their feet some TLC after this! Congrats to everyone who participated!
