Norman Allan chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathy, herbs, craniosacral therapy, counselling CST invites the body to let go of tension... it works at many levels.

why my practice is special:-

I have the tools to help with many problems

the chiropractic I do is special: we nudge the vertebrae forwards (instead of rotating them) and this is particularly comfortable, safe, and effective

the craniosacral therapy (CST) is hard to describe, because it is so complex and so simple. At the very least, it is one of the most relaxing things I know of. At best, well, it may heal deep problems.

The last time I boasted about how good I was, it brought in Lynn as a patient but, I wasn't able to help her and she felt rather sour, so I'm reluctabnt to boast again. But, again, facebook for promotion... what else but tell... things I have in the past done very well treating... asthma! "sinus" problems (there was just one that didn't respond)! tailbone pain... and dare I say it, dare I say it, (despite not helping Lynn) I'm still doing wonderful work with most neck problems. So that's the boast for today. Give me a call: 416 928 9272

CranioSacral Therapy is difficult to discribe because there are so many sides to it. It can be a subtle mechanical therapy, an "energy" medicine, a psychotherapy, and/or a spiritual tool. Some of these more exotic aspect are explored in my essay, "mind body dialogue..."

Sister Catherine pointed out to me once, apropos of body, mind and spirit, "It's not a third part mind, a third part body, a third part spirit. It's a hundred percent mind, a hundred percent body, a hundred percent spirit." She also noted that spirit is intrinsically mysterious. Then again, ...

Acupuncture: I've recently been teaching acupuncture, and consequently learning a lot, and seeing some miraculous things. Some of the conditions we see the most gratifying results with include insomnia, sinus conjestion, and allergies.
The things I've written about acupuncture, and posted, are probably of more interest to practitioners then to a general lay public, but you might try looking at my article on stimulation and sedation.(cause I'm quiet proud of having made this contribution to our understanding of what's going on here - and then again there'd be the article on "current of injury", work I did with Prof. Pomeranz...)

I've been teaching acupuncture this summer (2009) and one of the most interesting, but confusing, frustrating aspects is the question of stimulating, or reducing, energy at an acupuncture point. It's an important question, but chasing it in the literature yields no simple, or consistent, ans...

I see some amazing results with chiropractic (old and new pains disappearing), I think particularly because I use the Gonstead technique where instead of rotating your neck, or your back, we nudge the vertebra forward back into place. (`Forward back into place`? - from posterior to anterior.) It's a gentle, safe, and effective way to fix a problem. Here is a brief article about the technique: http://normanallan.com/Med/sagittal%20adjustments.htm

Sagittal Manipulations are safe, comfortable, effective, and long-lasting. In the Gonstead Technique of Chiropractic, vertebrae are nudged forward, in the sagittal plane, rather than twisted in rotation. Sagittal manipulations are particularly safe because they minimize rotation and they are ...
