Did you know acupuncture can be used to support your skin?

Facial acupuncture uses ultra-fine needles to create gentle points of stimulation in the skin to support circulation, collagen and elastin production, and the skin’s natural repair processes.

Our facial acupuncture treatments also incorporate lymphatic drainage, red light therapy, and relaxing head, neck & facial massage, making it a really nice way to slow down, release tension, and leave feeling refreshed.

It’s all about supporting your skin, caring for your body, and ageing gracefully in a way that still feels like you.

Hips always feeling tight? You’ve probably already tried stretching them out.

With chronic hip pain, Miranda takes a more layered approach:

🔸Manual therapy to help modulate pain, reduce protective tension, and give the nervous system a sense of safety
🔸Active work to build capacity and strength through the range we’re trying to regain
🔸Movement + loading to help your body actually trust and use that range in a meaningful way

For some people, stiff and tight hips are less about a lack of flexibility and more about a body that doesn’t yet feel confident or strong in that position.

So rather than constantly chasing more range, we want to ask:

Can we make this movement feel safer?
Can we build strength here?
Can we give your body a reason to keep the range?

That’s where the combination of hands-on treatment + active rehab can be really useful!

It’s finally happening, Recreo Run Club is back!!!

It’s been a busy summer behind the scenes at the clinic, and while life has gotten in the way of organizing group runs, we’ve really missed this part of our community!

We’ve planned out the next four Run Club dates so you can get them in your calendar:

July 26
August 23
September 20
October 18

Whether you’re training for a race, just getting into running, or would rather join us for a walk, everyone is welcome. We’ll have both a social run and a walking group, followed by coffee afterward.

We can’t wait to see some familiar faces and hopefully a few new ones too!

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Alana to the Recreo team!! Dr. Alana Shnier, ND, HBASc | Naturopathic Doctor | Ontario

Over the years, we’ve had so many conversations with patients who were looking for support beyond pain or injury. Questions about hormones, digestion, energy, stress, sleep, skin health, fertility, and overall wellness often came up, and we wanted to be able to offer trusted support for those concerns within our clinic.

That’s why we’re so excited to have Alana join us!

She’ll be a resource for anyone looking to better understand their health, address the root contributors to ongoing concerns, and create a plan that supports long-term well-being.

As Recreo continues to grow, our goal remains the same: to bring together practitioners who share our philosophy of personalized, evidence-informed care and who work collaboratively to help you feel your best.

Appointments are now available through the link in our bio.

When the nervous system stays on high alert, pain and tension can start to linger.
Ear acupuncture is one way we can signal safety back to the body.

Some areas of the ear connect directly to the vagus nerve: the pathway that helps regulate heart rate, digestion, and the body’s ability to calm down after stress.

By stimulating specific ear points, we can send a message to the brain that it’s safe to relax. Over time, this can help reduce hypersensitivity, ease pain, and quiet the body’s protective response.

🧠 What the research shows:
✔️A 2012 study (Auricular Acupuncture and Vagal Regulation) found that ear acupuncture can influence vagal activity, impacting heart rate, breathing, and gut function. (He et al., 2012, PMC)
✔️More recent research shows that auricular stimulation can lower inflammatory markers like TNF-α and IL-6, which tend to rise when the body is under stress. (ScienceDirect, 2024)

On top of being relaxing, ear acupuncture is one way to help your system restore balance and support recovery.

Curious to try it?
Ask your practitioner if ear acupuncture could be added to your next treatment!
