In the complexity of today’s shifting world, and all the uncertainty that goes along with it, our innate skill for inner awareness and letting go, often fall by the wayside. Restorative yoga, which has been called ‘the yoga for the 21st century’ is a practice that restores wellness, ease and harmony in a system that has become overloaded and hyper stimulated. The restorative practice adapts many of the fundamental postures of the hatha yoga system bringing about their healing properties by cultivating our ability to yield to the force of gravity. Join Toronto’s Restorative Yoga teacher of teachers for her comprehensive 30 hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training March 6-15. (2 Fridays 10:30-4pm, 2 Saturdays 11:30-5pm & 2 Sundays 11:30-4pm. This training with does not come along very often. Now is the time to grab it at the early bird price. For details, visit the 300 Hour YTT page of our website. (Link in bio).

KIRTAN with & Lucas Julian on Cello

Saturday February 7, 8~9:30pm

Kirtan is the practice of call and response chanting. It is a form of Bhakti Yoga- the yoga of devotion. The leader calls out a mantra (often in Sanskrit, the language of yoga), and the group calls back. Through repetition of these sacred sounds, we focus our mind, and co-create what is sometimes called the bhav, or ‘divine mood.’ Kirtan can be an opportunity to tap into your voice, create and feel vibrations in your body, dance, or simply go inward. No experience necessary.

Join Jay Andrews on Saturday November 29, 7-9pm for a 2 hour restorative practice exploring embodied relaxation immersed in the resonance of vocal chant, flutes, drones and expansive soundscapes. From fluid movement and group chanting, to releasing into restorative postures with vocal toning, the practice will progressively soften into restorative shapes and open listening. This is special.

Jay Andrews is an ECMA and Juno nominated musician, composer and yoga teacher who began exploring Nada Yoga through his teacher YuMee Chung. He has since studied and practiced chant, instrumentation and listening as a method through the scope of both Buddhist and Yogic lens’.

Inner Alchemy - Somatic Yin Yoga
with
Saturday November 8th, 7-9pm
Just a few spots left.

Join Angela for an evening of somatic exploration to break free from old patterns and create the life you deserve.
Yogis have long recognized that the mind and the body are one and the same. How we inhabit our bodies has a direct impact on how we think, feel and act in the world.

The mystery of Somatic practices lies in the connection between sensation and our reactions. Our personal stories are expressed as subtle vibrations and experienced as sensations, visions and symbols. Through the stillness of Yin Yoga, we can hover our attention near these subtle vibrations in an act of deep listening where our awareness of sensation expands and thoughts, feelings and behavioural patterns that no longer serve us, dissolve. Attending to the language of the body in this way brings the systems of the body into coherence, regulates the nervous system, balances hormones and on a cellular level, turns off genes that create disease while activating genes that promote health and longevity.

In this workshop we will begin with gentle rhythmic movement to improve interoception (the system that helps us to feel into our inner world). We will then move into the stillness of Yin yoga infused with somatic practices. Finally, we close with a Somatic Dreaming practice where we plant the seeds to create the future we truly desire.

We’re thrilled to have leading our monthly Prenatal Yoga workshop for the rest of the Summer.

Meet Kundalini Queen, Prenatal yoga teacher, Mama of 4 and doula, Elisha Conover Arthurs… and if you’re expecting, come join her for some Prenatal yoga Thursday nights at the space, 6-6:50pm

My name is Elisha Conover-Arthurs and my path has always gravitated towards exploring a range of embodiment and movement practices. Currently I facilitate Prenatal, Postnatal, Kundalini, Yin and Hatha yoga as well as Wild Womb dance experiences.

I have a platform for Kundalini Yoga called Mystic Seed where I provide online instruction and video recordings, in person classes and workshops. I am also a full spectrum doula, a birthworker and a proud Mother of four.

My work often brings me in contact with a variety of communities. I enjoy serving the Black, Indigeonous and marginalized populations, who, without barriers to access, deeply benefit from these ways and teachings.

I believe yoga saves lives and regular practice polishes diamonds.
