Hats are allowed to be worn indoors by ladies, and as a First Lady Melania is more than welcome to do so. From my own personal experience, my mother was a dignitary as my father was a government minister and diplomat, and she most definitely wore her hats to ‘functions’ as they were called then, without having the hassle to disturb her well-coiffed hairstyle by taking it off at any time!
