Fluoride is a mineral whose ions found in rocks merge with water, resulting in high water fluoride levels.
The US and Canadian governments use water fluoridation programs to promote oral health protection. It helps us prevent cavities and boost oral health while drinking water and mouth rinse when we brush our teeth.
Applied topically or ingested, fluoride is great at replenishing the minerals we might loose due to plaque buildup in our teeth.
Generally, fluoride benefits our teeth health by:

🦷Breaking down food acids stuck on our teeth.
🦷Removing the harmful acids that wear down the tooth enamel.

Do you have braces? Did you know it's recommended to have your cleanings done more frequently while in orthodontic treatment? Instead of 6 months, typically we recommend every 3-4 months!
