PT Student Spotlight 🔦

Hayden is a second year physiotherapy student at UofT, completing his second clinical placement at Triangle Physiotherapy Etobicoke!

Before pursuing physiotherapy, Hayden studied Kinesiology at Queen’s University.

Growing up playing competitive hockey, he always had a passion for exercise. It wasn’t until he was a trainer at an adaptive exercise gym where he realized that physical therapy was the perfect profession to combine his interest in movement and helping others achieve their meaningful goals.

Outside of clinical hours, you can find Hayden in the gym either lifting or running, watching hockey (go leafs go), and attending trivia nights with friends 😁

🔦 PT Student spotlight 🙌🏽

Jordan is a second-year masters of physiotherapy (MScPT) student at the University of Toronto and is currently completing her second clinical internship at Triangle Physiotherapy. Prior to entering the MScPT program, she completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a concentration in athletic performance and injury management at Wilfrid Laurier University.

As a CSEP-Certified Personal Trainer and lifelong athlete, Jordan has a strong interest in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, particularly exercise-based rehabilitation, return to sport, and helping athletes optimize their performance. She also has a growing interest in neurological physiotherapy, especially spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

Growing up, Jordan competed in high-level ringette, including representing Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games. More recently, she has traded her skates for running shoes and has taken on HYROX and running races. Her own experiences with sport, training, and injury have helped her shape her interest in physiotherapy and her appreciation for rehabilitation that helps people get back to the activities that matter most to them.

During her placement at Triangle, Jordan is excited to continue developing her skills in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment while learning from the team and working with a wide variety of clients. 🏃‍♀️💪

PT Student Spotlight!

Jordyn is a second-year Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MScPT) student at the University of Toronto and is currently completing her fifth and final clinical internship at Triangle Physiotherapy. Prior to entering the MScPT program, she completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Western University.

Outside of the clinic, Jordyn enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors, whether it's going for a run along the waterfront or exploring a new café downtown with friends. She also enjoys spending time with her family at their cottage by the lake.

Jordyn's passion for physiotherapy began when her uncle was diagnosed with brain cancer. It was his physiotherapist who first recognized concerning signs, leading to an earlier diagnosis. Watching the physiotherapists work with him throughout his hospital journey opened her eyes to the breadth of the profession and the meaningful impact physiotherapists can have on patients across the continuum of care. This experience inspired her to pursue a career dedicated to helping others achieve their goals and improve their quality of life through movement and rehabilitation.

Having grown up playing competitive hockey, Jordyn has developed a lifelong appreciation for sport and movement. For the past three years, she has also worked on the sidelines with men's and women's ice hockey teams, providing on-ice and game-day physiotherapy support. These experiences have fostered a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and she looks forward to helping patients return to the activities that matter most to them.

Are you showing early signs and symptoms of hip and knee osteoarthritis?
😞 The hip and/or knee joints hurt and feel stiff in the morning or after sitting for a period of time.
😞 Difficulty in doing things like crouching, putting on socks, going down stairs or gardening.

If yes, the GLA:D Canada program can help.

☺️ The GLA:D™ Canada Program is an 8-week education and exercise program for those with stiff and/or painful knees and/or hips, or those with knee and/or hip osteoarthritis. Research from GLAD® in Denmark shows participants report less pain, reduced use of painkillers, fewer individuals on sick leave, and being more physically active.

We are excited to announce that we are now providing the GLA:D Canada Program at our Yonge Street clinic in Toronto. Give us a call at 416.203.8622 to find out if you are a candidate for this program!
