It's not just stress 🕵️ And somewhere, deep down, you already knew that.

Exhausted no matter how much you sleep. Moods that feel harder to predict. Digestion that's off, energy that's unreliable, and labs that always come back "normal." So you get told it's stress, or just getting older, and you're left figuring it out alone.

But your hormones are always talking. Your cortisol, sleep, gut, and s*x hormones are all connected, and when one is off, you feel it everywhere. The problem was never that nothing's wrong. It's that no one has looked at the full picture. 🔍

That's exactly what I do. Through my Hormone Cornerstone Method and comprehensive testing, we get real answers, then build a plan that fits your real life. No guesswork. No band-aid supplements.

Accepting new patients in The Junction and virtually across Ontario. ✨

Comment DEEPER and I'll send you the link to book your free discovery call.

Can your emotions actually make you physically sick? 🤢🤕

Yes. And not in an it's all in your head way. The opposite, actually.

Your nervous system is the bridge that carries emotion into your body. When stress, grief, and worry pile up without release, your body can get stuck in fight or flight. And a body stuck there starts to show it. Trouble sleeping, tension headaches, gut issues, tired but wired, a cycle that feels off.

Here's the part I really want you to hear: your hormones answer to your nervous system.

If your body is convinced it's in danger all day long, it deprioritizes balanced hormones and steady energy to keep you safe. You can take every hormone-supporting herb on the shelf, but if the alarm never turns off, those hormones keep answering to it.

This is why, when a patient comes to me with a hormone concern, one of the first things I assess is their nervous system.

Your body has been keeping the emotional score all along. When we finally listen to what it's telling us, that's when things start to move.

If you've been doing everything right and still feel like something deeper is being missed, book a free discovery call and let's look at the full picture together.

None of these brands are inherently bad. But we need to look a little deeper at what we are getting in a bottle 👀

Here's what I'm actually reading when I pick one up, and what I want you looking for too:

🎯 Dose. This is the big one, and it's why #5 made the list. Vitamin D at 1000 IU is a maintenance dose at best. You take it every day, feel covered, and still test deficient. Get your levels checked and dose to those, not to whatever the front of the bottle suggests.

💊 Form. Gummies are the ones I get asked about most, and I get the appeal. But to make a supplement taste like candy, you give up the space that should be holding actual nutrients. You end up with a fraction of the dose, plus added sugar and fillers.

🧩 On biotin specifically: hair and nail changes are almost never a biotin deficiency. They're usually a sign something upstream is off (think thyroid, iron, hormones).

📖 Two more label notes. On the prenatal, check for added ingredients like dyes, titanium dioxide, talc and a long list of fillers. And single-strain probiotics like Align aren't wrong, they're just one strain doing one job, which may or may not be the job your gut actually needs.

The takeaway isn't "these brands are the enemy." It's that the label tells the real story, and matching the right form and dose to your body is the whole point. That's the difference between a cupboard full of supplements and a plan that actually does something.

Melatonin might be the most misunderstood hormone in your medicine cabinet. 🌙

Most people treat it like a sleeping pill. Something you take to knock yourself out.

But melatonin isn't a sedative. It's a signal. Its whole job is to tell your body that it's dark, it's night, and it's safe to wind down.

So when you're lying awake exhausted, or getting a second wind right at bedtime, or waking up groggy no matter how long you slept, the answer usually isn't more melatonin. It's figuring out why your body isn't making it when it should. 😴

And that trail often leads straight back to cortisol. The two run on a see-saw, so when one stays high at the wrong time, the other can't actually do its job. ⚖️

Swipe through for what melatonin really is, what disrupted melatonin looks like, and why your sleep is rarely just about sleep. 👉

Which one of these sounds like you? Tell me in the comments. 💬

Every summer I get the same question from patients: what do you actually pack when you travel? ✈️🌞🧳🏖️

So here it is. The real list. No 14-step routine, no cooler full of supplements. Just a few small things that keep your digestion, sleep, and energy steady so you can actually enjoy the trip 😎

The two most underrated ones? Electrolytes (plain water often isn't enough in the heat, especially if drinks are involved) and magnesium citrate for the thing nobody wants to talk about: travel constipation. New food, less water, hours of sitting. It happens to almost everyone.

None of this is about being rigid on vacation. It's about packing smart so your body is supported while you relax.

The full post on my blog covers doses, what to look for on labels, and my simple food anchors for travel days. And if your energy or digestion feel off all summer no matter what you pack, that's worth a closer look. Book a free discovery call at doctormargotnd.com.

Save this for your next trip, and tell me in the comments: what's the one thing you never travel without?

Michael was doing what most of us do 🤷🏻‍♀️🤳🏻

Researching, trying supplements, pushing through. And still: bloated, constipated, foggy, and running a demanding job and young kids on skipped lunches and adrenaline 😖

His labs had been called normal. But insulin resistance and low vitamin D were sitting there unaddressed, and normal on paper is not the same as feeling normal.

We didn't hand him another complicated protocol. We started with meals he could actually eat, supported his gut and nervous system, and built the strategy from his blood work. By visit three: steady energy, better digestion, weight shifting, and time for himself again.

If this sounds like you, or the guy in your life running on coffee and granola bars, send him this. Hormones, cortisol, and gut health are not just women's health conversations.

Still asking yourself why you're tired every day? 🫩☕🪫

You're sleeping (mostly). You're eating fine. You've cut back on coffee, added a walk, maybe even tried magnesium. And you still hit that 3pm wall like clockwork.

Here's the thing: fatigue isn't a personality trait. It's a signal. And more often than not, your hormones are the ones sending it.

Cortisol, thyroid, blood sugar, iron, s*x hormones. Any one of these can be quietly draining your battery, and they rarely show up in a quick "everything looks normal" workup.

That's exactly why I built my free hormone quiz. It takes 3 minutes and helps you figure out which hormone system is most likely behind your fatigue, so you can stop guessing and start asking better questions.

Comment QUIZ below and I'll send you the link!

Supplements I'd actually buy at Shoppers Drug Mart 🤪🙏🏻🌱

Let me be clear about my priorities first: the best place to get your supplements is through your healthcare provider, your local health food store, or a practitioner dispensary like Fullscript | Trusted by 125k+ Healthcare Providers . That's where quality control is highest.

But sometimes you're in a pinch. You're out of magnesium, it's 9pm, and the Shoppers by your house is open. I'd rather teach you how to shop smart than pretend that never happens.

Here's what I look at every single time: ingredients, dosing, and quality. Those three things matter more than the brand name on the front. And when I can, I prioritize Canadian companies.

One thing to know: within a single brand, some products are great and some are less desirable. The same company can make an excellent magnesium and a multivitamin I'd never recommend. This is why learning to read labels beats memorizing "good brands."

My goal is always to teach my patients what to look for while keeping their lives easy. Because the best treatment plan is the one that actually gets done.

Now let's test your label-reading skills: any guesses why these specific products made my list? Drop your theories in the comments and I'll tell you if you're right.
