Nursing Competency Initiative

🩺🌟 Investing in clinical excellence through hands-on learning!

Following a virtual training session, our Nursing Coordinators, Donna and Misra, together with one of our experienced field nurses, Barb, hosted in-person competency sessions at The Care Company office on May 27th and 31st.

We were thrilled to welcome 27 nurses who demonstrated and strengthened their complex care skills in tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, and suctioning procedures. These sessions provided an opportunity for knowledge sharing, skill validation, and continued professional growth to ensure we are delivering the highest quality care to our clients.

A huge thank you to Donna, Misra, Barb, and all participating nurses for their commitment to excellence and lifelong learning.

As a proud BPSO Champion organization, we remain dedicated to fostering evidence-based practice and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional client care.

GPA Training

🧠💙 Learning, laughter, and person-centred care!

On May 28th, our GPA Coaches, Laura and Lindsey, hosted an engaging in-person Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) training session in The Care Company's newly renovated office.

Seven Personal Support Workers joined our two Nursing Coordinators for a day of learning, collaboration, and practical strategies to support individuals living with dementia. The session was filled with insightful discussions, hands-on learning, and a few laughs along the way!

We are incredibly grateful to all of the caregivers who attended and for the compassionate work they do every day to support our dementia care clients. Your dedication to creating meaningful connections and enhancing quality of life truly makes a difference.

Together, we're building confidence, strengthening skills, and helping our clients make each day count.

The Care Company is growing, and we’re excited to share that we’re expanding our community-based Occupational Therapy (OT) program across the Central East region, including Scarborough and Durham Region.

We’re currently looking to connect with Occupational Therapists who are interested in flexible, meaningful community work supporting adults transitioning safely from hospital to home.

This role was intentionally designed to support experienced OTs who value clinical autonomy, thoughtful pacing, and strong administrative support — without the burnout that often comes with community care.

✨ Role highlights:
• Community-based OT work across Central East (Scarborough & Durham Region)
• In-home and virtual visits
• Flexible, visit-based scheduling
• Defined geographic zones to reduce travel time
• Centralized scheduling and coordination
💰 Transparent compensation, with the opportunity to earn up to $750 per day, including:
• Paid initial assessments and follow-up visits
• Paid admin time
• Mileage added
• PPE provided
