Today marks the last day of National Physiotherapy Month and we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what this work actually means to us 💙

Physiotherapy isn’t just about treating injuries. It’s about helping people get back to the things they love. The morning walks. The weekend games. Picking up their grandchildren. Living without the pain that’s been slowing them down.

, every day we get to be part of that journey and that never gets old.

To every patient who has trusted us with their care, thank you. You’re the reason we do this.

Happy National Physiotherapy Month 🌿

We have some exciting news to share. 🎉

Riley and Nika have both been accepted into the Master of Physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto.

We couldn’t be more proud of them both.

They’ve been a huge part of the Bayview Rehabilitation family - welcoming patients, keeping things running smoothly and doing it all with a smile. Watching them take this next step in their careers is genuinely exciting for everyone here.

The future of physiotherapy is in great hands. 💙

Please join us in congratulating them in the comments below! ⬇️

Spring is here and people are getting back outside 🌿

The walks are getting longer. The bikes are coming out of storage. Weekend sports are starting up again. After a few months of moving less, the body is suddenly being asked to do a lot more.

That’s usually when we start hearing from people.

A knee that flared up on the first run back. A shoulder that didn’t love the first round of golf. Stiffness that wasn’t there last fall.

It’s completely normal and in most cases very manageable. We love seeing people get active again. We just want to make sure you can keep doing it all season long 💙

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait. Come see us before it becomes a bigger issue.

Ten years. That’s a long time to show up, give your best, and genuinely care about the people walking through the door 💙

This past weekend, we celebrated four members of the Bayview Rehabilitation team who have each been with us for a decade.

Tannaz, Joanna, Anahid, and Negar - we could not be more grateful for everything you bring to this clinic and for the care you give to your patients every single day.

This clinic is what it is because of people like them.

Here’s to the next 10 🙏

10 years 💙

This week we’re celebrating someone who has been a constant, caring presence at Bayview Rehabilitation for a decade — our wonderful Physiotherapy Assistant, Anahid.

She shows up every day with warmth, dedication and the kind of quiet professionalism that makes everything better. We are so grateful she’s part of our family.
Anahid — thank you for 10 incredible years 🙏🌿

Please join us in congratulating her below! ⬇️

“Just rest it.”

It’s one of the most common pieces of advice people hear after an injury.

And while rest can help in the early stages, it’s rarely the full solution.

Here’s why:

1️⃣ The root cause doesn’t go away

Pain often comes from how your body is moving — not just the injury itself.

2️⃣ Muscles and joints can become weaker

Too much rest can lead to stiffness, reduced strength and slower recovery.

3️⃣ Returning to activity too quickly can restart the cycle

Without proper rehab, the same issue often comes back.

Recovery isn’t just about stopping pain — it’s about restoring movement, strength and confidence.

That’s where guided physiotherapy makes the difference.

Sometimes the body sends signals before pain becomes a bigger problem.

Here are three common signs we see that may mean it’s time to see a physiotherapist:

1️⃣ Pain that keeps coming back
If discomfort improves but repeatedly returns, the underlying issue may not have been addressed.

2️⃣ Stiffness that limits movement
Difficulty reaching overhead, turning your neck, or bending comfortably can indicate joint or muscle restrictions.

3️⃣ Pain during everyday activities
Climbing stairs, lifting groceries, or sitting at your desk shouldn’t cause persistent discomfort.

Early assessment often makes treatment simpler and recovery quicker.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth having it checked.

Not sure what to expect at your first physiotherapy appointment?

Many people delay seeking care simply because they’re unsure what the process looks like.

At Bayview Rehabilitation, your first visit is focused on understanding your concerns and creating a plan that works for you.

Here’s what typically happens:

1️⃣ We start with a conversation.
We listen carefully to your symptoms, history, and goals.

2️⃣ We assess how your body moves.
Movement patterns often tell us more than imaging alone.

3️⃣ We explain what’s going on.
Clear, straightforward explanations — no confusing medical jargon.

4️⃣ We build a personalized plan.
Your treatment plan is designed around your lifestyle, schedule, and goals.

Our goal is simple — to help you move better, feel better, and return to the activities that matter to you.

You don’t have to wait until the pain is unbearable.

One of the biggest misconceptions we see in our community is that physiotherapy is only for serious injuries.

Most people actually come in with:
• shoulder tightness that won’t go away
• back stiffness after long days
• knee discomfort on stairs
• recurring headaches
• something that just feels off

The earlier we assess it, the easier it is to address.

At Bayview Rehabilitation, our focus isn’t just short-term relief.
It’s understanding why it started and helping prevent it from coming back.

If something feels different, don’t ignore it.

Small warnings are easier to manage than big setbacks.
