Working on complex sentences ✅

I recently listened to a podcast featuring Dr. Karen Dudek-Brannan and loved her approach to vocabulary instruction. She says that we can't just teach children what the words are and their meaning (semantics). We need to also teach them HOW to use those words (syntax). If a child doesn't know how to use their vocabulary functionally, then what's the point?

THIS is why we work on combining sentences and creating complex sentences. Pretty cool, right?! 👌
