Every time I have tried to post this new and exciting news, I keep coming up short. There is a typhoon of emotions ranging from grief, curiosity, bravery, excitement, and feeling scared as hell, to name just a few bold ones. But after experiencing my first weekend back as a student in my first year of Osteopathy, I realize that this may take a village to ride these waves.
Fourteen years as a Massage Therapist have given my mind and body knowledge, curiosity, and strength, but we also get set in our own treatment patterns and the ways we do things. This will be a five-year journey, and my practice will be transitioning and shifting as each year unfolds, bringing new information that will give my hands and mind new skills to work with and new ways to assess and bring back to you and the treatment room.
I will try to share the process as time passes. Iβve had a lot of questions from existing patients, and Iβm not sure that I have β or will have β the answers anytime soon.
Itβs truly a process. I am taking a deeply wired part of myself, unraveling it, and letting those spaces fill with new and exciting information, while just having fun with it along the way.
I hope that you will also enjoy getting to experience the things we are learning and understand that my philosophy of the body will be changing. It is such a beautiful and resilient system that we get to live in and experience every day. It will take many hours, if not months, to begin to feel as comfortable with it as I already do with Massage. The rewiring process may feel a little different, but trust that it will be so, so worth it. ππΌ
The body is constantly trying to move toward balance, as health is always trying to express itself. Our bodies are brilliant in the way that they rarely do something for no reason. (I am trying to get a better understanding of those reasons π€.)
I enjoy riding the waves with each and every one of you! This is going to be fun! π€©β¨
