Saving you a screenshot: your compression socks probably aren't too tight — the top is sitting too high.
Pulled right to the knee, the top rolls, and a rolled top doubles the pressure in that one spot. That's the ring, that's the pain. The fix is card 3: two finger widths below the crease behind your knee.
And measure your calf at its widest point before you buy — at or above the top of a size range, any cuff digs in. Sizes run S–XL; if you're outside that, we'd rather say so.
