We’re excited to share that the N-Zyme Biomedical program has received a US$2.76 million award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance the clinical development of fosamprenavir for patients with proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-refractory GERD.

The award will support a Phase II clinical study evaluating fosamprenavir as a potential new treatment approach for patients who continue to experience reflux symptoms despite PPI therapy.

Congratulations to our Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Nikki Johnston, and the entire research team on this significant achievement!

Together with our ongoing Phase II program in laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), this award allows us to expand the clinical development of fosamprenavir across two major areas of reflux disease while preserving shareholder capital.

We believe this represents another important step in building the clinical and scientific foundation for pepsin inhibition as a new therapeutic strategy in reflux disease.

N-Zyme Biomedical is pleased to announce that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted the Company a new patent covering the use of fosamprenavir for the treatment of reflux disease.

N-Zyme Biomedical, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of innovative therapies for patients with reflux disease, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), has received patent approval for United States Patent Application No. 18/047,173, titled “Aerosolized Formulations of HIV Protease Inhibitors for the Treatment of Airway Reflux.”

The patent granted by the USPTO provides important protection around the use of fosamprenavir for the treatment of reflux disease, further expanding the scope of N-Zyme’s intellectual property coverage and supporting the advancement of its therapeutic pipeline.

The event was a tremendous success, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of our team, advisors, collaborators, investors, healthcare professionals, and community members who have helped make this milestone possible.
