The Shaykh explains that these choices are like gates—one gate opens to the realities of Paradise, the other to the difficulties of separation and hardship. The “no grey” teaching is a call to vigilance: we must be conscious of our direction and strive to be of those whom Allah ﷻ loves and is pleased with.
Shaykh Nurjan often uses the analogy of a magnet: we are either being pulled towards the light of the Heavens by sincere love and service, or towards darkness by the weight of our ego and heedlessness. The labels on the surface do not matter if the inner reality is not aligned with truth. This is a time for deep self-reflection—ask yourself, “With every action and thought, am I moving towards the Divine, or away?”
