Recent foot patrols have been quite busy, with teams consistently recovering items like crack pipes and needles along our routes.
We even had a completely unexpected wildlife encounter: a bear with three needles! Definitely not something on our usual patrol checklist.
A sincere thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers for your time, energy, and teamwork. You help keep our community cleaner and safer every single day.

We had some fantastic visitors at the office today! 👋 The Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (MPNH) summer program stopped by to connect with our VPD officers and learn all about community policing in our neighbourhood.

The group got a behind-the-scenes look at how we work together to keep our community safe and learned more about the safety services and resources available right here in Mount Pleasant. Thanks for dropping by and making it such a great visit! 💙👮‍♂️🤝

A massive, heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to say hello at the Pleasant Day Festival! 🎉

It was wonderful connecting with members of our community, sharing safety tips, and seeing so many familiar and friendly faces.

July was a busy and rewarding month for the MPCPC and our incredible volunteers! ☀️

From community block parties and festivals in the park to our very own Summer Donation Drive, our team was out connecting with neighbours, supporting local initiatives, and helping make our community stronger.

This past Saturday, MPCPC hosted a Naloxone Workshop focused on building awareness, confidence, and practical skills to help respond to an opioid poisoning emergency.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid poisoning, administer naloxone, and take action when it matters most. Community safety starts with education, preparedness, and people willing to help.

Together, we are helping create a safer and more informed community. 💙

Our Community Partner Program is a simple, no-cost way for local businesses, organizations, and strata's to stay connected with the MPCPC while supporting community safety initiatives in Mount Pleasant.

As a Community Partner, you can:

• Connect locally through outreach events and collaboration opportunities
• Access support with crime prevention and safety programs
• Participate in workshops, training, and team-building cleanups

This program is completely free and flexible, with no obligation. Partners can participate at the level that works best for them.

Our Summer Donation Drive is back! ☀️😎

This July, the Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre is collecting essential warm-weather items to support community members facing housing insecurity and financial hardship.

Summer can bring serious challenges, including heat exposure, dehydration, sunburn, and limited access to basic hygiene supplies. This drive focuses on practical items that offer protection, comfort, and dignity during the hottest months of the year.

Donation dates:
July 3 to July 17 at participating local businesses
July 18 at our main collection event at Kingsgate Mall

A full list of drop-off locations will be shared soon.

Most needed items include:
Sunscreen
Deodorant
Cooling wipes or packs
Electrolyte powders or tablets
Lip balm with SPF
Hand towels and washcloths
Hats, sunglasses, breathable t-shirts, and shorts
New socks and underwear
Basic hygiene items
First aid supplies

All items must be new and unopened.

Donations will be distributed directly to community members through MPCPC outreach patrols, foot patrols, and community engagement initiatives.

Local businesses are still welcome to get involved as drop-off hosts or promotion partners. To participate, contact us at 604-717-0684 or [email protected].
