My HRV has been steadily improving, and I’ve been thinking about what actually drove it.

For me, it likely comes down to something fairly unglamorous: getting back to consistent movement after bilateral meniscal injuries and surgery.

There was a long stretch where running simply wasn’t possible. Now I’m running twice a week again, and doing two strength sessions weekly.

That combination—tolerable load, repeated consistently—seems to have shifted things more than any “optimization” strategy.

From a physiology standpoint, it’s a reminder that autonomic resilience often follows restored function: capacity first, metrics second.

Sometimes the best biohack is just getting back to what your body was designed to do.

More than two dozen studies found that patients taking the drugs showed lower risks of developing cancer, better survival, and improved responses to some treatments.

Case Study

A woman in her early 50s came to me struggling with menopausal weight gain, brain fog, low mood, aches and pains, and IBS.

Today, she's pain-free, at her ideal weight, thinking clearly, energetic, and thriving.

How did we get there?

There was no magic bullet. We addressed multiple root causes with a personalized approach that included comprehensive hormone optimization, thyroid support, low-dose naltrexone, BPC-157, and targeted lifestyle interventions.

The key takeaway? There is no one-size-fits-all protocol. Every recommendation I make is personalized and based on an individual's symptoms, history, goals, and testing results.

You don't have to accept feeling unwell as a normal part of aging.

The workbook in this photo is part of our Essentials Program—now used with over 100 patients since August 2022.

Over the past year, a clear pattern has emerged in my practice.

The most common presentations we’re seeing:
• MCAS
• CFS, including Long COVID
• Menopause and andropause
• Accelerated aging concerns
• Autoimmunity (especially IBD)
• And increasingly, cancer

Different labels, same underlying themes: immune dysregulation, hormonal shifts, metabolic dysfunction, and a nervous system under chronic stress.

This is not a “one symptom, one solution” era of medicine. It requires deeper thinking. This is where a more personalized, systems-based approach becomes essential.

Grateful for the opportunity to support patients through these complex journeys.

Spent the weekend at the AAMP Conference in Scottsdale diving deeper into complex chronic illness — an area I already focus heavily on in my practice.

There were excellent discussions on fatiguing syndromes, with special focus on Long COVID, MCAS, and spike protein-related injuries. I ‘ve walked away with a few more tools under my belt but what I appreciated most was the intellectual honesty of the presenters — physicians and researchers willing to openly discuss what many doctors in Canada still hesitate to say out loud.

Medicine advances through curiosity, open dialogue, and a willingness to question assumptions — especially when patients are still suffering and looking for answers.

Work-life balance isn’t a luxury — it’s part of staying healthy and showing up fully for others.
Here in sunny Scottsdale for a medical conference, but also making time for sunshine, movement, rest, and relaxation. Learning and recovery both matter. ☀️🌴

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and nurturing women who give so much of themselves to others. 💛

As a physician, I see every day the strength, love, resilience, and emotional labour that women carry while caring for their families and communities.

And to everyone blessed with a mother or maternal figure in their life — may today be a day of gratitude and appreciation.

Wishing you all love, connection, and a little time to care for yourselves too. ✨

On National Nurses Week, I want to give a huge thank you and shoutout to the incredible nurse by my side who wears more hats than I can count. 💛

Not only is she an amazing nurse, but also a health coach, a steady support for patients, and now helping manage many of the administrative moving parts of the practice as well.

Healthcare is truly a team effort, and compassionate, capable, heart-centered people like her make all the difference — both for patients and behind the scenes.

Grateful for the dedication, adaptability, care, and calm she brings every single day. Our patients are lucky to have her, and so am I. ✨
