BCND's CE Tracking Tool is now available to members.

Built with the realities of naturopathic practice in mind, the CE Tracking Tool provides a simple, centralized way to organize, track, and maintain your continuing education throughout your career.

Continuing education is more than a regulatory requirement. It reflects the profession's ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, lifelong learning, and evidence-informed patient care. Whether you're attending conferences, completing online courses, earning certifications, or participating in professional development activities, keeping your records organized has never been easier.

As the regulatory environment continues to evolve, maintaining a comprehensive record of your educational activities can help support professional reflection, demonstrate your commitment to continued competence, and ensure important documentation is readily available whenever you need it.

Something New Is Coming This Fall...

What if there was a new way to help strengthen and elevate the naturopathic profession in British Columbia?

We're putting the finishing touches on a new BCND initiative designed to help members engage with their profession in a meaningful way while supporting greater awareness of naturopathic medicine across the province.

More details will be coming this fall. Stay tuned.

Learn. Share. Grow. Join Us for BCND Grand Rounds.

Great clinical care is strengthened when practitioners come together to share ideas, discuss challenging cases, and learn from one another.

Whether you missed a recent session or are planning ahead, BCND Grand Rounds continue to provide practical, case-based education from experienced colleagues across the profession.

Catch up on recent presentations, including pulmonary conditions, trauma-informed psychiatric care, mould-related illness, and paediatric case studies, then join us this fall for two engaging new sessions:

• September 22 – Hormone Therapy in Perimenopause with Dr. Brittany Schamerhorn, ND

• October 13 – Rethinking Chronic Digestive Symptoms: Evidence-Aligned Care for Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction with Dr. Rachel Lovink, ND
We look forward to continuing these conversations and learning together throughout the year.

Culturally safe care is an ongoing commitment to learning, reflection, and meaningful action.

For naturopathic doctors, providing safe, respectful, and equitable care means understanding the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism, recognizing how systemic racism continues to affect health outcomes, and approaching every patient interaction with cultural humility.

The findings of In Plain Sight reinforced what many Indigenous patients have long shared about their experiences within British Columbia's healthcare system and highlighted the responsibility of all health professionals to help create meaningful change. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action similarly emphasize the importance of education and competency in Indigenous health as part of reconciliation.

To support members in this lifelong learning journey, BCND has compiled a selection of Indigenous-led and evidence-informed educational resources on our Other Continuing Education page.

We encourage members to explore these resources and continue building the knowledge, skills, and humility that support culturally safe care for Indigenous patients and communities.

Save the Date | November 7, 2026

Clinical practice is constantly evolving, and continuing education should evolve alongside it.

Join BCND on Saturday, November 7 for our annual Virtual Education Symposium, a full day of practical, clinically relevant education designed to support naturopathic doctors in everyday practice.

This year's theme, The Art and Science of Clinical Decision Making in Naturopathic Practice, explores the clinical reasoning, judgment, and evidence that support safe, effective patient care.

We'll be announcing our speaker lineup and opening registration later this month. Until then, mark your calendar. We hope you'll join us on November 7.

August is Autoinflammatory Awareness Month, an opportunity to increase understanding of a group of rare diseases that are often misunderstood, under-recognized, and difficult to diagnose. Unlike autoimmune diseases, autoinflammatory diseases involve dysregulation of the innate immune system, leading to recurrent or persistent inflammation that can affect the entire body.

For naturopathic doctors, awareness starts with listening carefully to our patients. Recurrent unexplained fevers, inflammatory symptoms, rashes, joint pain, fatigue, or episodes that don't fit a typical pattern deserve thoughtful assessment and, when appropriate, timely referral for further investigation. Early recognition and diagnosis can make a meaningful difference in quality of life and long-term outcomes.

This month, let's help shine a light on these rare conditions, support those living with autoinflammatory diseases, and continue advocating for greater awareness, research, and access to appropriate care.

Happy BC Day Long Weekend!

Whether you're spending the weekend exploring beautiful British Columbia, enjoying time with family and friends, or simply taking a well-deserved opportunity to recharge, we hope you're finding a moment to pause.

To all BC naturopathic doctors, thank you for the dedication, compassion, and professionalism you bring to your patients and communities throughout the year.
