🐾 One small chip can make a big difference.

Collars and tags are important, but they can become lost or damaged. A microchip provides a permanent form of identification that stays with your pet and can help reunite lost pets with their families.

Microchipping is quick, safe, and gives many pet owners added peace of mind. It's a simple step today that could help your pet find their way home tomorrow. ❤️

📞 Interested in microchipping your pet? Contact our team to learn more or schedule an appointment.

Vancouver summers mean more time outdoors with our furry companions, but rising temperatures require extra vigilance. Heat stroke can happen faster than you think, especially during those sunny Kitsilano Beach walks.

Recognize the signs: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or vomiting. Prevention is key: walk during cooler hours, bring water, and watch for hot pavement that can burn paw pads.

At Cypress St. Animal Hospital, we believe preventive care is where we catch the issues pets can't tell us about. Your peace of mind starts with being prepared.

Questions about keeping your pet safe this summer? Call us at (604) 734-2500.

Ticks may be small, but the health risks they carry can be significant.

In British Columbia, ticks can be active throughout much of the year and may transmit diseases such as Lyme disease. Dogs can pick up ticks during walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures and sometimes bring them home unnoticed.

Prevention remains the best protection. Regular tick checks, veterinarian-recommended preventatives, and early detection can help keep your pet safe all season long.

Talk to your veterinary team about the best tick prevention plan for your pet. ❤️

Concerned about ticks this season? Contact Cypress St. Animal Hospital to discuss prevention options and protect your pet before the next outdoor adventure.

Vancouver sunshine is finally back ☀️🐾
And if your dog is extra excited for longer walks, patio hangs, and beach adventures… they’re not alone. 💛
Warmer weather means more outdoor fun, but it also brings risks like overheating, hot pavement, dehydration, and overexertion, especially during peak afternoon heat.

Keep fresh water nearby, avoid hot sidewalks, take shade breaks, and watch for signs like excessive panting, lethargy, drooling, or hesitation to walk. A safe summer is a happier summer for everyone. 🌿🐶

Enjoy the sunshine safely! If your pet seems unwell after outdoor activity, contact our Cypress Street Animal Hospital team for care and guidance.
