OPTOMETRY: TOP GOLF EDITION ROUND 3

(Found this one sitting in the archives 😅)

What’s exciting YOU about the profession right now?

09/10/2026

7 ophthalmologists and 11 optometrists walk in to a soccer match…

What results is a fun and engaging night of conversation!

Last night, we had the opportunity to host an amazing, a one of a kind, collaborative event which brought MDs and ODs together in an entertaining atmosphere where everyone could truly connect with one another.

We cheered, we celebrated, we gave away an iPad, the whitecaps won. All in all, it was a great night!

We hope this event can be one of many ways that ophthalmology and optometry can continue to collaborate to create a better future for eyecare.

Infinite gratitude to our industry partners Théa Pharma Canada and HOYA Vision Care Canada without whom this event would not have been possible 🙏🏽🙏🏽

When you ask the patient “which is better 1 or 2?” And they respond with “neither”.

Just kidding, we love all our patients! 😅

What could the state of optometry be if we don’t continually work to keep the profession strong?

It seems like a hypothetical question. But it’s not.

On this week’s episode of , I spoke with Rory Dowdall and Johnny Van Ling (two optometrists in Australia) about the current state of optometry and why they started the first ever optometry union.

Be sure to check out the episode and let me know what you think!

Sometimes we have differing opinions on what we can accomplish in a day.

Be careful out there, guys. Would hate for this to happen to you.

I guess I’ll just have to settle for treating dry eyes, fine lines, and wrinkles with instead of giving my wife that necklace this year 🤷🏽‍♂️
