Here you will find current events and links to articles and videos, and can post pictures of your adorable babies to share with your midwives! The Midwifery Group was the first midwifery clinic to open it’s doors in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1998. We view pregnancy and birth as normal, healthy, family-centered life events. We provide comprehensive maternity care for women and babies through

out the pregnancy, the labour and birth and the postpartum period. We deliver babies at BC Women's and St Paul's Hospitals and in homes.

January kept us very busy and our hearts very full. 🤍✨

It was a month filled with so many beautiful beginnings and so many little ones joining our community. Each of these names represents a family, a story, and a brand-new chapter. We’re so grateful to have supported so many January babies as they made their grand arrival into the world.

What is your name?
Ruby 💛

What is your role at The Midwifery Group?
I’m one of the clinic administrators - my job is to help clients feel supported from the moment they get booked into care right through to their final appointment with us. 🤰🏻

How long have you been a part of The Midwifery Group?
I’m celebrating one whole year working as a member of the TMG team! 🎉

What do you love most about working here?
I love the sense of community that is cultivated within our clinic both with our midwives and our clients and their families. ♥️

What inspired you to work in midwifery care?
I have always been passionate about birth and babies and I knew that I wanted to be a part of the birth world one day. I’m currently training to be a doula and working at the clinic has given me an incredible insight into the lives of midwives and birtherworkers and has only inspired me further to pursue my dream! 👶🏻🌸

What’s your go-to comfort meal or snack after a busy day?
A buttery grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup followed by some chocolate and a hot honey lemon tea. 🧀🍫🫖🥪🥫

How do you recharge or spend your free time?
I like going for forest and beach walks, doing something creative (my current hobby is learning how to knit), visiting my favourite cafe and getting their signature dark mocha (with an extra espresso shot of course), and spending time with my partner and friends. 🌳🏖️🧶☕️

What advice would you give to new or expectant parents visiting the clinic?
Don’t forget to check out our resources wall and lending library! Whether you’re thinking about hiring a doula, looking for some baby name inspiration or are curious about prenatal acupuncture or massage therapy, there’s plenty of books and pamphlets available to you! 📚 📕

There are moments in this work that stay with us forever. 💛

This image captures one of those moments — the arrival of a deeply loved rainbow baby, after a family experienced the heartbreak of a previous pregnancy loss. To witness this baby take their first breath, to hear them announce themselves to the world, and to hold space for both joy and grief is an immense privilege.

Our midwife Sandy had the honour of supporting this family through their journey. Holding joy, relief, love, and remembrance all at once. These are the moments that remind us how powerful, tender, and human birth can be. 🌈✨

We are so grateful to this family for trusting us with their care and for allowing us to share a glimpse of their story. Shared with permission. ❤️
